It’s annoying that spending money on a alarm set up, you then have to pay extra for a very very basic app...

Good app - does what it says
I am not sure why this app gets poor ratings. The app does what it says it should. Reasonably straightforward to use.
You can access the panel keypad, check if the alarm is on or off, arm and disarm, monitor zones in real time and operate any connected auxiliary outputs.
Point for improvement
- Changing the setup options is not intuitive at all, one needs to press and hold the model number icon (eg, D-16) for a couple of seconds to update settings (ip address, zone names, output names etc). Perhaps there could be a more obvious way to update the settings. Only discovered this after a month of using the app.
Also, sometimes there is a delay between switching an output and the action taking place which can be irritating.
Additionally, the app sometimes fails to connect when opened, and has to be closed and reopened to connect.

Terrible
I don’t usually leave reviews but this app is terrible which is disappointing for such a great alarm panel. There is little to no user interface, the app doesn’t notify you of an alarm and you have to have a static up address to use it. This information should be in the app description before we have to pay for such a useless app.

Good but missing a vital feature.
App is good but needs push notifications to be added.

Need to operate more than one panel
App works well but please update so it can control more than one Ness D8X panel without having to change IP addresses in the setup. Just need a button added that allows easy switching between more than one D8X panel.
Crashing and update
App has been working well for a few months to allow remote control but appears to be crashing now with the latest iPhone update

Poor
Keeps losing connection from home unit and only re connects when I get home.
Not doing what I thought it would.

Very basic app which is good for use, no access to change zone names on app after installing, need to delete and re install app to change zone names. Needs a few up grades.

Multiple panels
Found this to be a great App. The only disappointing part is not having the option to operate multiple alarm panels, in other words switch between home alarm, to work alarm. Otherwise 5 stars.
Refresh
It can’t be too hard to have the app refresh while open. Have to kill the app for zones to update. Also push notifications would be the next thing to work on. Ness, there has been no app updates for some time, please put a little effort into it.
