  • A good start, but needs some work

It does what it says on the tin, but there's a few things it could use.

Some personalization settings might be nice. I never do trad, for example, and it's a little inconvenient to toggle it off every time I leave a topo.

The ui also isn't really user friendly and sometimes feels like a maze to navigate. Nothing seems really clear and the icon's aren't really self-explanatory.

And the crashing. So much crashing. It's in dire need of some stabilization.

I know this all sounds really negative, but this could be a fantastic app with some work. The potential is here if the devs are willing to keep up the work. I'm still gonna be using it.

  • Rakkup for Peña de Bernal

As everyone in 2020 wants to move faster and lighter while in the mountains this app is the perfect solution.
If you’re headed to Peña de Bernal in Querétaro México Rakkup has the only complete guide in existence for the area.
All of the misinformation with regards to the climbing at La Peña has been solved.
Everything you need is in the palm of your hand.

  • Excellent design and great features

The app is one of the best that I have ever used. It is a massive improvement over Mountain Project and is constantly updatable. GPS positioning, images, and descriptions will get you right where you need to go. This is the climbing app to get!
  • Lighter than a guide book and easy to use

I started using Rakkup in Tensleep a few years ago. It took me a day or two to figure out how to best navigate the app, but after a short learning curve I was a pro. I stopped carrying the printed guide with me as it was easier to use the Rakkup app and it didn’t weigh my pack down.

I especially like the gps trails. No more driving around aimlessly hoping you parked at the right pullout, then walking along the wrong game trail.

I highly recommend this app (and its guides). It’s a great resource and it won’t fill up the bookshelf in your van!

  • The climbing companion

Never met someone with such a phenomenal memory about route itinerary and grading, route quality, route location ... and always willing for a new adventure anytime.
  • Never get lost and stay up to date

The main feature that I like about this app is the gps navigation. It makes approaches so much easier and certain. How many times have I gone up the wrong trail, backtracked, and wasted time on the approach. Really nice to get to the climb faster and not be confused at a trail junctions.

Also the constant updates. Hardly ever is a printed guide fully up to date. This platform allows instant updates from developers and in seconds you have information on all the climbs.

  • So awesome!

This app is so incredibly helpful to the adventurer. The ability to see your location in relation to a guidebook map makes navigation stunningly easy. Now you can take your mind off the approach and focus on the objective!
  • Decision Making Tool

The snow sports side of this app is certainly fun to play with and drool over sweet lines. But where it really shines is with the tools for helping the decision making process in avalanche terrain. The filter function, hazard explanations, and intuitive navigation are good examples. What sets Rakkup apart as an app is its reliance on professional authors including mountain guides, ski guides and renowned athletes. In the high consequence world of avalanche terrain travel, reliable information is paramount. It’s nice to see an app developer take this seriously.

  • Amazing app

This app is totally amazing. It's the same as a guide book, and it's lighter, smaller, clearer and much easyer to understand.

Don't hesitate, every route is georeferenced wich make it way easyer to localise them. You just need to clic on the route you are interessed in and you'll have every information you need!!

  • Gorgeous and intuitive

The maps, interactivity between routes/photos, and the climbing log all integrated into one app are awesome. Make beta notes for yourself after a burn to review for the red-point attempt. Swipe between lines to make sure you know what your about to get on. It's intuitive, and at least for the Portland area really helpful.
