Great when starting out.

As a beginner the Grint is an awesome tool. The GPS is very accurate and reliable and stacks up against my mates range finder.
Loving it so far!

Good fun

Great app, please keep it free!!! Love notifications when playing well or terribly

Rough time with Apple Watch

I absolutely love the app and wish i could use it all the time but i get extremely frustrated when I have to constantly reopen the app on my watch. I also use Golfshot and never have this issue with that app. I can even back out of that app on my watch and send/check messages, take calls…whatever and it will automatically pop back open as soon as i raise my wrist. If you can figure that out with an update I’ll get it up to 5 stars. It’s also very laggy with distances. The only shots i try to track now are my drives but I’ll have to wait for it to settle down and figure out where I’m at before i can even think about it. So close to the best out there. Few tweeks and you’re there.

Hi! We are sorry to hear about these issues. Please email us at contactus@thegrint.com so we can help you. We have a few solutions for that. We'll be waiting for your email.

Personally love the app, but feel something changed!!

I’ve been using the app and service (free version) for probably a year plus now and have very much enjoyed it as it severs as a great exchange for a range finder, even up to distances + or - 5 yards. Which again I’ve loved the app!

However, recently I’m not sure if it’s something with an updated that occurred or something in my personal settings, but I changed nothing, that equaled for my whole bag to be deleted at one point and I suffered from not being able to choose clubs mid round. But the real issue for me was that the gps setting is staying station from the tee box and isn’t moving with me as I approach greens.

Personally this is killing me mid round as it serves as extra work for me to do the math to figure out the distance more or less. I thought it could have been the course but it looks like it’s just my app on every course. Additionally I asked a friend I was playing with and he said his didn’t look like mine and was updating his distance through a hole.

Simple issue, hopefully simple fix!!! I really enjoy using the app, but will probably get tired of having to do this current method much longer. Please help, thank you!

Hi Mike! Thank you for your support! We apologize for the inconvenience! It sounds like you are using the GPS Flyover while you play. There are two GPS features we have: 1. The GPS within the Play button. If you are logged in on the App. Tapping on the Play button. Setting up the Round. Starting the Round and then on the Score Tracker Screen you are tapping on GPS (on the Top right), that GPS should always show your current location on the Hole and move as you move around. If that is not working, please check that you have the Cellular Data and location services ON for TheGrint App within your Phone Settings. 2. Then we have the GPS Flyover feature, within the Courses tab on the Top right Home Menu (9 dots). If you go to the Courses tab. Search for the Course you are going to play at. Tap on the "target" button on the top right. Select a Tee Box. That GPS screen won't move or update your location UNLESS you select the "Use My Location" option within the top left menu on that GPS Screen. By selecting that option, that GPS screen will move as you move around the Hole. If anything, please email us at contactus@thegrint.com so we can help you out.

Watch app needs work.

After using a different tracking app for a while, decided to give this one a try to look for some better statistical tracking. There is a lot to love about this app, but using this while on the watch isn’t great. The GPS seems to vary wildly. I’ll track a shot and immediately be 10 yards off, without moving. Secondly, it would be great if when I tracked my shots, it automatically updated the score for this hole. It’s annoying to have to go back to my phone, and then enter my score, putts, tee shot club, putt distance, etc. for a second time. Also being able to mark the flag from your watch would help better track distance. Definitely a nice app, but for where it is, it isn’t worth the Pro price compared to other apps.

So easy

Been using the grint all year and its helped me and the lads sort our handicaps out and arrange our matches in the group's.
Enjoying following friends matches on there as well.

3rd out of 3 golf apps

Like most apps, this one will track your shots, give you scores, and provide your handicap.

The support team could not import my data from another app, that is a very highly used. Not sure if they could figure out the right website to go to or what their real problem was. I sent them a copy of the file that you would get from the download, but they would not or could not open it and read it. The file is open a bowl or readable the Mozilla fire fox.

I would expect any app that supports the golf game to be able to compile your shot data and be able to recommend which club you would use for your next shot. TheGrint is not able to do this which was a big downfall.

They open the advertise that you could link to GHIN to get your handicap so I will mention them here. GHIN is able to do all the things that I want but I would need to become a member of the USGA. At this time I use a third app that I would not mention here, but I am very happy with it because it provides me with course GPS, wind, elevation, changes, club, selection, and various course hazards. Most of this is free on this other app, even though I pay for the upgrade.

Great statistics, and easy to use

I love that my friends and I can see each other’s rounds and share statistics. I’ve only been on the free version of the app for a month, but already I’m getting really useful information about where my misses are off the tee, up and downs, and where my scoring tends to be weakest. I’ve been able to rethink my pre-round strategy and better organize my range and drill time to try to improve. It has helped my course management and my par 3 performance.

If I could add anything to it, I would love to be able to track length of drives and other club hits, feet of putts made per hole/round, approach misses and clubs, and maybe weather data - maybe they’re in the pro version?

Great app for stats

I use the Pro version to track my stats, and it includes a number of useful things that comparable apps at a similar price point (like SwingU and Hole 19) don't - such as putting results by distance and approach accuracy or putting stats by club. The list of milestones achieved in each round (and the compilation of these in the Trophy Room) is also helpful. I don't use the social features, so all of that just ends up as clutter, but great app overall. I look forward to adding shot tracking from the watch, which has been the main limitation compared with similar apps (for now I use a different app on the course so I can track shots with my watch, and then enter the round in The Grint on my phone afterward); it would also be useful to show the average distance for each club in the current bag on a single screen rather than forcing the user to look up each club individually.

Thank you Pablo! We appreciate the feedback and support!

Bring back scoring on watch

App used to be perfect. Now they want me to pay an annual membership fee just to track score from the watch. I feel like that’s such a core basic function that it’s just a dirty cash grab to lock behind pro, especially when it was free before. At least you can still track it from the phone app, but doing it from the watch was more convenient AND FREE BEFORE. Why are you taking away functionality :( I will probably switch apps just cause of this. I assume their justification (per their newsletter) was the added access to friends scores, but seriously who cares. No one wants to share their 120 at the local muni. They’ll share the scorecard for their good rounds, which is again already free. If you need more money from free users, i wouldn’t mind banner ads at the bottom of the phone app. Locking basic functionality behind a huge paywall doesn’t make me want to pay, just to stop using the app altogether.

Hi. We are sorry you feel this way. We do appreciate your feedback though! As you might have seen already, this release is just the initial phase of a full revamp that we are launching over the next few weeks. On top of the new look of the watch and Green Maps, we will also include Shot Tracking (including Auto-Tracking) and Aerial Hole Maps. All this required significant work and investment from our team and we made the difficult business decision to add "Watch Score Tracking" as a paid feature ($3.99/Month). Still leaving Score Tracking from phone absolutely Free. Our hope is that our community understands the effort and costs behind building all these amazing features and consider supporting us by becoming PRO members. And that free members continue to track scores from the app. Email us at contatus@thegrint.com if you have any questions or any feedbacks.
