French Open 2024
It would be nice if they had consistent coverage of these tournaments….but it is all so fragmented. You use to be able to watch most of these tournaments on either Channel 2 or Channel 4, now my Dad who played tennis since he was 7 years old is now 91…always watched all the matches…and now it is so difficult for this age group viewership to watch these matches. Do they not get that if you don’t make it easy and accessible for viewers, they will give up watching…and just look at the scores? My father taught me to play and I grew up watching all the tournaments and continue to practice, but I must admit that now that everything is being broadcasted in bits and pieces…makes it not worth watching. You have to make it easy for viewers to watch all the matches, otherwise they just sign off and give up. How will you get new viewers engaged in watching all these new players coming up now that the legends are all retiring? You must make it easy and accessible for everyone….not broken up over several channels. The younger viewers are not as physically active and don’t have the attention span…and the older viewers will find it too technologically challenging and just give up…..please, make it easy and available for all tennis fans!

Latest update is awful
Update - The app is still broken several weeks after I posted this.
Tap the icon to show the video ad picture-in-picture. Tap it again and the video goes to portrait mode and stays the same size so half the video is off the screen. there’s no way to get it back k unless you force quit the app. I missed a goal as a result of this (not just 1/2 the goal because the ball went in the net off screen. Many mor issues than this. I just tapped the “full screen” icon during a commercial. The video flipped to portrait mode even though I was watching landscape. I would have tried to tap the icon to see if it went back, but all the controls were gone. Another force-quit. So I had to watch the commercials again before skipping to the 50th minute of the game(well, 2 sets of commercials because I had to skip past halftime). I actually stopped watching the game after the 3rd glitch. I was spending more time watching commercials than I was the game. I don’t know why they decided to rewrite this app. The old version worked. This one doesn’t most of the time. If you do get it to work, don’t touch it. Bad things will happen.

Can you fix it?
This is the worst sports app ever. It never loads correctly. You can’t view the articles correctly. You have to open and close the app a couple of times for the articles to properly load. You have to sort the order you would like to see the articles in every time you open the app. I enter my carrier info and my profile stays. When I open the app my carrier profile is still there, so that means info can be saved online when the app is not connected. So how come the order I would like to view the articles in can’t stay. It used to stay and now it no longer does. It seems like every time you guys change the app it gets worse and worse. How about this, have someone test the app that uses it daily. An unbiased eye that will see the problems and bring them to your attention and not a person that designed it that hides their problems.

Content is great; app keeps getting worse
With each app update, the UI changes, and rarely for the better. Sure, it looks a bit more polished now, but functionally it's not good. All I use is the “Articles” tab, and the order of the different topics seems to randomly change between each launch. This is despite my having used the feature to set the order. Also, the refresh feature seems to have disappeared. No longer does a pull down cause a refresh. Neither does a pull left. The only way I’ve seen to get the latest stories to show up is to force quit and relaunch. Oh, and the problem where it returns to the beginning of the list when you return from reading an article still persists. It used to remember where you were so you don’t have to scroll back through the whole list to get to the next article.
The one good thing it has going for it is that you can actually scroll the articles…but that was fixed in the last version before the big change ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wish they’d spend more time making the things that the app does actually work rather than reskinning it every year or so

Clunky interface
There are a number of problems with this app:
1) the biggest issue is the interface when scrolling through stories on an iPhone within the SportsTalk sites. When I try to scroll down it pulls most of the screen up with it and barely advances the article. The left/right shifting between articles is hair-trigger sensitive and so sometimes I’m scrolling through a long article and it shifts me to the next or previous one. Then you have to go back and start over again. Huge pain in the a**. Also, when shifting between articles (I.e., swiping right or left) sometimes the app gets awkwardly stuck between articles, so you end up seeing half of each. Finally, if you’re reading an article that is, say, 20 articles “old” (easily just a few hours old on ProFootballTalk) and you go back from that, it returns you to the most recent articles instead of to the spot you were just viewing, so you need to scroll back all the way to the older articles again.
2) you cannot remove certain sports from the app. I have zero interest in a lot of the content, like NASCAR, Notre Dame football coverage, etc. but you cannot turn it off.
3) get a copy editor for ProBasketballTalk. The writing and errors are often brutal.
4) Mike Florio is a terrible, self-promoting clown of a writer.

Worst app ever
This app never ceases to amaze with its inexplicable bugs and errors. Absolutely horrible. Literally the worst app I’ve used in the 10 years I’ve had an iPhone. I cannot wait for another company to take the EPL from this awful app. A few issues: -Constantly plays two audio tracks of the game you’re watching, creating a cacophony that could quickly drive anyone into psychosis. -despite entering the correct cable provider info, I can never watch from my phone if I’m connected to a WiFi signal from that same provider (spectrum) which does not have the nbc sports package. -no rewind/ replay or scrubbing of any kind -“go live” is essentially a “crash this app” button. -and what happens when the app crashes? You have to open it again and sit through 2-3 more advertisements. I cannot tell you how many goals and moments I’ve missed due to this insidious development. This app is trash. But they have a monopoly on EPL streaming so, nothing we can do about it! Just brace yourself for an incredibly frustrating viewing experience.

EPL NBC Crew
Thanks Mrs. Rebecca Lowe, Tim Howard, British Genius(Sorry, forgot your name friend), absolutely beautiful studio, that solid prestige clear glass table is on my shopping list for my budiness floor). It’s always important to give credit where credit is due, I understand I’m the real deal, no sugar coating anything, I speak my mind as I speak truth, my truth are facts based, not emotion opinion based, plus I don’t have a hater drop in my body, so last season I was upset and said not so nice comments, this season I clearly se the improvements and that’s when I do what I do and give credit to the EPL crew, all 5 including the 2 British folks in the Uk commentating the life matches. I love my British friends, I adore the English language, English way of life, English intellectualism is impressive and long live our beautiful world game, long live England Nation, long live the EPL. Rebecca Lowe and Company keep up the great work, much love from Portland, Oregon- Cheers

Mobile app issues
You need to give the mobile pro football talk back to Florio to control the app. This app turned to absolute crap and used to be one of my favorites. Not being able to comment is totally lame and takes a lot of the fun out of it. Used to know other fans through it and now it’s not even an option. The biggest issue though is the scrolling. If you click the first article and try to scroll down even the slightest slide to either side pushes you the the previous article or next article so you have to scroll back and start over. Sometimes the articles won’t allow you to scroll all the way down either. Once you do decide to go on to the next article and you get about 5-7 articles in it stops you from proceeding and you have to close it out and slide from the summary page. Then once you open the article you want and close it you are forced to start all the way back at the beginning. After 13 or so years of following profootball talk I am ending it and going to sleep bot for my football news.

Terrible Olympic Coverage
In watching the highlights, NBC somehow finds a way to showcase the most horrible, poorly edit clip possible. They do an awful job of showing what happened. For example, a gymnastics floor routine is about 2 minutes but NBC doesn’t show the routine but first shows a 30 sec commercial and then randomly selects 30 seconds to showcase of a GOLD medal routine! They have missed the whole point of the Olympics!! You hear very little of the commentary, no anticipation, no excitement before a clip is brutally cut-off to showcase another 30 sec commercial. This is consistent across highlights, replays, and the labeling of live shows (they too are wrong or incomplete). Too many commercials - and usually, I’ve watched the same one 25 times in the same day. Multiply that across two weeks and yes, you get a sense of the worst Olympics experience possible. NBC should be banned from accessing the Olympics (with one exception - the commentators are great, if only we could hear them more when they are not live).

Great Idea and Interface Ruined by Constant Commercials
I want to start by saying that I use this app only to watch the Olympic Games. The user interface on this app is pretty good. I like the way you can browse by day and/or sport. Pretty easy to find what you want. That said there are 2 major gripes. One is that the app shows a lot of spoilers. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really like watching the replay of an event, after I’ve just seen a headline of who won the event, or some major spoiler of what happened. Kind of ruins it for me. I live on the west coast and many events are overnight so I am unable to watch most things live (thus unable to avoid the replay). The other thing that makes this app pretty much unwatchable, is the commercial breaks every 3-5 minutes. I’m not exaggerating on this. For the live events I am able to catch, the commercial breaks happen during important parts of the event, so when the break is over, you have missed major parts of the event. Please fix this!
