  • Goes off

I love this clapper because if the style of it. But the software goes or should I say cuts off. In my opinion it needs a software fix. But that being said, I still think it's one of the best clappers at this price point.
  • I usually don't write reviews but...

So this is really the first time I have used a clapper of any kind. However, I know what one is used for and for that, this app lacks the clap. It's got the minute tone which wasn't loud enough for my microphones to pick up on audio.
My solution for a possible fix is to add the option to change it. Either option the clap or the tone. And if you are going to use the tone, option to make it louder so you can actually use it.
Other than that, this app is pretty cool and useful for the grease board portion replacement and the time readout.
  • Broken email “registration system”

This app is useless. Do Not Download it! It requires you to enter your email address to get a secret password, though it promises not to spam you. Then it never sends the secret word to activate it.

It might be the best clapper app out there, but I’ll never know because I can’t get past the stupid registration screen.

The developer cares more about signing people up for his apps than he does about writing apps that actually work.
  • Style without function, start from scratch every time?

Every time you open it insists on getting your email address for 5secs or so, then you can skip past it. Could never get to consistently open and close. Opens but won't close. Sound is a faint beep. Not a clap. Time starts upon open, not when it claps shut. Every time you strat the app you have sit through the opening. And worst of all start from scratch filling out the production and director, and other data. So you better track it on paper. What is up with that?
  • Untrustworthy

Requires email to receive "secret" word. Says won't spam, but why else would you want the email address for an app like this... Be very wary...
  • Needs to be louder

A point of a clapper board is to sync audio but the sound isn't loud enough. Please make it louder and no excuses on the iPad's speakers as a limiting factor because I've heard other apps be louder.
  • Do NOT be deceived by these bad reviews

I downloaded this app with a very pessimistic attitude because of the reviews posted from other users. It is true that the app does ask for your e-mail address so it can send you a secret key to activate the app, but in contrast to what others stated, I received my e-mail almost simultaneously when I submitted it through the app—virtually no wait time for the e-mail whatsoever. I entered the phrase that was sent to me and have had no problems with this app at all. It does not ask me to reenter the phrase to use the app when I re-launch it. I have also not received any spam e-mail from the app or its third-party sources (if any at all). If you’re worried about that possibly happening, you have the option to click the unsubscribe button in the welcome e-mail you receive once you enter the secret key that activates the app.

If you’re interested in a clapperboard app and do not want to pay for the others that are offered on the App Store, this app is a perfect option. I have no complaints from using this app. It may be because of an update to the app as to why I am not having any issues similar to those posted by other users, but all-in-all, this app very much deserves a solid five-star rating.
  • Uninstalled

Not giving you my email address
  • Requires email address to function, still doesn't

I agree with other reviewers that it is extremely bad form to require an email address to use a product. What makes this worse is that I am yet another user who has yet to receive the confirmation email that contains the code necessary to unlock the app. I had no problem receiving the app author's spam for his other products, however. In other words, I'm being spammed but still don't have a functional app.

What does all of this mean? The author cares more about his ability to spam you than he does about your ability to actually use the product. Several other reviewers (both of this app and its pro version) have indicated that they have received no response to support requests. This is a bad business model - don't support it.
  • Requires your email address, install process broken

Requires an activation through a secret word process that's broken. He requires your email address. He never responded to my email about fixing the broken password mechanism.
