  • Awful.

Never even received an email password to try it. Better slates out there.
  • Waste of time

Won't let you install without email. Nothing in life is free if I have to give you my information for your product. Delete!
  • No way I'd ever go back to a regular slate!

I've tried (and deleted) quite a few slate apps but I use this one on a regular basis -- including today. Works quite well. The beep is loud enough to give the desired audio spike in the tracks for syncing external audio to the camera's. It has a Tail feature for those times you get so involved with shooting that you forget to use it in the beginning of shooting.

My favorite feature is the multiple slates. I usually have several ongoing projects, including assorted equipment tests, and being able to pull up a different slate for each is a real plus. It even keeps track of where you were when you bring up a previously used slate. Awesome!

I'd love a notes feature that's connected to each scene. I use the Notes app until that happens. There's a few other tweaks I'd like that I wrote the developer about.

Is it perfect? None of them are, but this app works for me.
  • Yech

They insist on obtaining your email address. Not nice. Deleted it.
  • Not good

Requires email to use? Dirty pool. Not for me.
  • Won't give you my e-mail address

I'll be damned before I'll give you my e-mail address just to use the app.
  • Beep not synced

The beep was not consistently in sync with the clapper. Sometimes it was, sometimes not. Used on iPad mini. Uninstalled.
  • Hmmm

Never even got to check it out. It asked for my email address to sing up, said it was sending me a password, which I never got...
I guess it wasn't meant to be
  • Signup required

    Uninstalled
  • Lacks many needed options

No logging. No sound when clapping. Only two lines of information (no camera info, roll number, etc.)
Also it forces you to sign up for newsletter to unlock the app.

I strongly suggest DSLR Slate instead.
