Dependable once again

I tried to edit the review I left earlier but was unable to. I had reported instances of recording in church that resulted in absolutely no sound. Well, after deleting Voice Record Pro from my iPhone 6s Plus and reinstalling, I am happy to report flawless recordings for the past few months. I think I'll try out version 7 Full, now that confidence has been restored. There is one problem, though, that I hope a future update will fix. Instagram is unable to upload an MP4 video exported from VRP. Something wrong with the "wrapper". It repeatedly fails to upload and clones the MP4 in Camera Roll every time it fails. My workaround is to open the MP4 in iOS iMovie and export to Camera Roll. Instagram will then accept the video.

Amazing!! So full of features!

I very rarely review apps, but I felt I just had to say a few words about this one. I’ve been using it a couple of days, and it’s absolutely superb! I use it out in the field to record news clips for a radio station I work at. The built in editor is great for quick pre-broadcast edits, and the FTP delivery is spot on! In fact, there’s so many delivery options, I reckon it’d suit anyone.

The only feature I think the ftp delivery is missing is the ability to save multiple ftp account profiles. But that’s just me nitpicking..

I LOVE THIS APP! Thank you so much 👌🙌

Powerful app with great functionality but...

Powerful app with great functionality. Only reason why I’ve given 4 instead of 5 stars is because I think that improvements could be made to make the user interface look a lot more modern and slick. I don’t think the graphics nor the app icon that’s been used does the programming behind it much justice. Would like to see a templates section in settings where users could pick their own themes. Also be good see few more effects in advanced settings. Apart from that, brilliant!

None other like it

This is one of a kind as far as I can tell. It has something for the novice and pro user alike.
A bug, YMMV: When using OneDrive I’m asked to verify the relationship every time (do you want OneDrive to allow Voice Record...). Irritating but still works.
Also, the ability to reskin the app with the more modern, sleeker design of its sister app would be appreciated. As far as I can tell Voice Record 7 is functionally equivalent but it appears this version may no longer be in development, whereas that version is. I really can’t tell.

App Freezes / No Support

I used this app several years ago to record research interviews and and it worked fine.

However, after updating to the latest version and making a recording more recently, the app froze when I tried to send myself a download link so that I could download the file. It now appears I have no option but to delete and reinstall the app, losing my recording (which has key information in it) in the process.

The support website for this app receives no attention from the app developers; as such, most of the questions posted there go unanswered.

Very satisfied with this app!

I’ve been dabbling in a masters program, listening to acoustic recordings for surveys and data collection. Those were recorded with more appropriate state of the art field equipment. I use Voice Record Pro to capture bird sounds on the go, as I hear things that I want to document, investigate more deeply, or use as a reference for what I’m hearing in my study recordings. This little phone app is quite impressive. I particularly appreciate how the gain settings can help pick up far sounds that I am barely hearing. The ease with which I can manage and download/upload files is a plus too. I highly recommend this app.

I love using this app

It is so flexible in it’s operating modes, it’s editing functions, it’s variable sensitivity to automatically pause during silence if required and so much more.

I happily paid for the ad-free version and I’m always recommending this app to everyone who sends me a voice message using the standard iOS app. One particular reason is because I have my phone enter standby mode after 5mins so I’m always having to stop what I’m doing to unlock the phone to continue playing the messages (something that used to drive me to distraction when recording long messages myself before switching apps).

A couple of family members were unconvinced and I rate this app so highly I paid the price of the ad-free version for them (and they are now recommending it to others themselves). It’s price is in a the mid-range of the average apps I buy but it’s worth it.

One more thing, I mentioned that the basic iOS voice recorder is irritating but I was delighted to find it is so very simple to convert from that app to this it’s almost seamless playback from the time it’s opened there to the time it’s played back here. Converting between many formats is just as easy.

There are so many good features I want to praise but I’m tired and it’s late – read the app description, even download the free app if you want to check it out first… but I would be rather surprised if anyone using it for the average kind of tasks I use it for chooses not to upgrade.

Most helpful

I ended up deleting other recording apps and only use this one. It has everything I need and lots of features I haven't used yet, but they look useful. Thank you developers!

Professional, Versatile & Free

It has everything I need. For a small app it has some useful fundamental basic features you need on the fly such as trimming and id3 tags, level sound meter with adjustable input gain. You can save as WAV, MP3 and MP4. It’s all you need really. There’s also numerous easy ways to save it, and transfer it over to PC so you can edit it more via more advanced software.

The whole presentation also looks very professional and slick, the adverts are just small static unobtrusives one below (well it wouldn’t make sense if a loud commercial suddenly played first if you had to record something live quick, or whilst you’re trying to record a quick music demo (or something) now would it, lol).

Anyway this has been the perfect app for recording my music and session jams. If I think of a good melody in my head I can now just pick this up anywhere and quickly record it (so I don’t forget) with simple ease.

I so hope that any future updates are good ones, and not make the app over bloated, and also that they keep keep this free and keep the adverts to a minimum.

I highly recommend this.

Still the Best

I have used this app for a long time now on my iPhones old and new. If however you wanted to use this app in conjunction with the Apple Watch there are some complex settings that need to be set. The Apple Watch likes to go to sleep that’s the first set back. Also in order for the app to stay alive the watch can never sleep, that doesn’t work. What you can do by default is set the app to run on the watch but have the a on the paired iPhone now the iPhone is the recorder not the watch. It works if the watch goes to sleep. The thing is the app appears on the face of the watch, if you push the crown and go back to the watch face the app stops. Past that it’s still the best.
