Fantastic for art beginners

I love art but have never known how to fully understand what I’m actually looking at, and this is where Daily Art excels! I’m shown a wide variety of artists and styles, and starting to understand more about art and gaining confidence as time goes on. I also like that the descriptions aren’t too long and are easy to digest without too much difficult terminology.
I really think this app is fantastic for opening up art to a wider audience who have been perhaps intimidated before. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

Just me, or…

I don’t like the app structure or anything, it’s just i have an eye for art. It is fun to browse, but the paid subscription is too forced. I feel like you could make it cheaper or turn a few features into free ones. I do think this app could see more popularity and love if the non-paying community was more welcomed. It feels overdone, as every time you attempt to access a paid feature, it completely halts your experience with a full screen pop-up. It would be much appreciated by me and many others if you were only to remove the popups and simply add a pro tab (like discover, search and daily) in which you can see the price, pay options, and features added. If you attempt to use a pro feature without a subscription, a simple text popup saying ‘pro is required for this feature’ and simply have it disappear in a few seconds, allowing the user to simply continue with their art experience. I don’ want to be the “it’s too expensive” guy, but a lot of people using the app don’t have or want to spend money. It would be much to my appreciation if you were to add one or more of these recommendations in a future update, or at least consider them.

Paid subscription and laggy app put me off

I’m fully behind the concept and purpose of this app but why oh why does everything have to be locked behind a subscription these days? £9.99 a month to be able to like certain pieces and access more content that’s available in the public domain with very little effort? “Oh, but it’s only £2.50 a month with the annual subscription.” But it’s not, though, is it? You’re asking me to pay £30 to look at pictures of paintings and read a couple hundred words about them (oh, and click some links to buy some merch).

I would have been happy to pay a one-off cost to remove ads or unlock more content, but there’s no way I’m paying a monthly/annual fee in perpetuity for the minimal features it unlocks. Added to that, the app has noticeable bugs, including jerky, unresponsive scrolling, making it a much less satisfying experience than I’d initially hoped.

Good but frustratingly limited

This is a great art app - my main frustration is that some of the collections are quite limited. For example, if you go to Discover tab one of the first collections is “Chinese Art - Ming Dynasty” which has 2 pieces.

This has happened a lot for me, I click on a collection to find it only has 1 or 2 pieces in it. Usually the thumbnail pic is not even included, which is also frustrating. This means, for example, the Mona Lisa is there as a thumbnail for “Most famous paintings” but not in the collection. That painting is not in the app at all as a piece, which is just weird to me. And frustrating because after paying my $13 or whatever it was one of the first things I searched for to show my kids. Had to Google it instead.

So I like it, the app is very good, but it has puzzling limitations

Beautiful art every day

This app is a great way to see new masterpieces every day. It’s very fun to see new pieces from artists I’m unfamiliar with, like a mini trip to a museum. The selection and description are great. The discovery section also gives fun and seasonal / topical collections to explore. The widget is very cool, and I love seeing the art all day on my home screen.

I give four stars because the app has some odd functionality features. There’s not an obvious way to navigate back and forth between the art and the text description, you just have to click back to the “daily art” homepage. Generally, the navigation on the app is not very intuitive. Also, the widget occasionally malfunctions and shows a previous art piece or switches back and forth between pieces.

Nevertheless, I highly recommend the app to anyone who loves or is interested in art, and I’ll continue to use it very happily myself.

Hard to navigate

I got a daily reminder to have a look but can only see what was posted yesterday. Advertisements get in the way. Really annoying. Will delete this now.

Great art app

Very informative and well designed, I am on the monthly subscription.

Wonderful App just got better!

I’ve been a DailyArt fan for many years and my 5pm reminder of a new painting, object or design is a daily delight. The scholarship, insights and sheer joy in the descriptions of the works brighten up even the greyest of days. A daily dose of Art is a must for the spirit and the soul and DailyArt delivers enlightenment and enrichment in equal measure. Best of all the new App has enhanced look and feel, new functionality - but still keeps the winning basic design and proposition. It still feels like home but with a makeover! Do subscribe and support this terrific App!
