  • Great Remote

Use this for checking levels around our auditorium and diagnosis when FOH, it's very quick, with minimal lag. Only negative is no access to the mute groups.
For the wifi dongle we use the Netgear WNA1100 N150
  • Fantastic addition to M-480

This is a great app...incredibly responsive. Found I had to put it in ad-hoc mode to avoid drop outs on wifi but not a big problem in our venue.

Some odd quirks...why do you want to clear solo on a Mobile app when you are likely to be remote from the desk but overall brilliant!

Slightly annoyed that you have to buy the Roland wifi dongle....why can't it work with a bog standard USB dongle but hey ho!

Have found it really useful when tweaking the mix for our church bands using IEMs

    Very intuitive and clear.

    Thanks Roland
  • Great app

Thank you Roland for bringing the app out. It's made the m480 so much better. However is it possible to have more integration with dynamics control?
  • Works well, but there are some problems

This app works well once you get it to connect with the M-480 via wireless. I use ad hoc mode, and it was fairly straightforward. Just make sure you have the latest firmware update for the M-480 installed, or it won't work.

Once it connects, the app does a good job controlling the M-480, but there are some issues in the way this app works - or doesn't work - with the other apps on your iPad. The main problem is that the wireless connection disconnects if ANYTHING else happens on the iPad. This includes going into AutoLock, any kind of alert from another application, a message, just about anything will break that connection.

I'm hoping that Roland will improve this app to address these problems. You shouldn't have to fix the connection every time you get an alert. I put the iPad into "Do Not Disturb" mode and turn off AutoLock manually, but there are some notifications that get through anyway, so that breaks the connection.

Roland, if you're paying attention, please consider the following improvements:

    1. Option to disable AutoLock in the app.
    2. Prevent disconnection when there is an alert or notification from another app
    3. Allow the app to stay connected even when the iPad goes into AutoLock, as when a magnetic cover engages it.

Aside from those issues, this app works very well, and it's a major asset for the M-480. It's nice to be able to test and control the mixer board without having to run back and forth!

  • Absolutely brilliant!

One of the best apps around. Works perfectly and a really useful facility for any M480 digital desk user.
