I've had this app for about 3 days and I'm already experiencing problems with it, I tested the analyser against my piano and the notes I played matched on the analyser but the highest notes F7-C8 the analyser had problems pitching them correctly and would usually say they were in the 6th octave. Also the lowest notes A1-A0 it also had problems pitching and it didn't pick them up!. Also when I want to use the app I have to turn my iPhone off then back on again for it too work. As a singer I purchased this app to help my pitching but overall I am really disappointed with this app and I would like a refund... Even if it was £1.50!.Show lessmikie-moo
Excellent little app
I tested this with my keyboard and it's spot on. Great for basic voice training. We'll worth a few pennies.The Wicked Monk
Very useful tool
This is an excellent app. Very useful for checking the amplitude of anything - e.g. The party music going next door at 4 am, traffic noise, the neighbour's barking dog. I use it for musical purposes to check dynamics of a piece.
It is also great for analysing pitch and in particular displaying the register of a note such as B4 as well as where the note appears on a stave and piano keyboard.
Only feature that would be nice to add would be option to weight the metering on the volume peaks so it is easier to identify the loudest sounds all it measures in real time.

I agree with Brian. It works well but if you added a few more things it would be excellent, like some tuning, playback. I guess there's more room for that. It could be great, but actually I paid for,this and I got what I was expecting according to the description.Cachife

Works well enough but some obvious improvements such as the ability to clear, add markers, infinitely scroll, playback audio, save, export midi (+ maybe a little ui cleanup) would make it perfect.
I think the first three are top priority. I hope the developer considers them.Brian W
Just what I needed!
I sing fairly badly and play recorders moderately well. I wanted a pitch analyser to help me improve my singing and check the tuning of my recorders. Pitch Analyser does both things brilliantly and easily. I love they way it displays pitch by note names (C, D etc.), by notes on a keyboard graphic, by frequency (Hertz) and by deviation in cents. I use it all the time. I also interested in bird calls and have used it to compare the calls of closely related species of Bronze-Cuckoos.
I hope a future version permits one to capture a time-line of the sound values for graphing or further analysis.
