  • Used to be good. Awful for last year and now worse than ever

    Used to be a good app. Then about a year ago had to restore purchases every time used it and took ages to recognise subscription and not charge. Latest update awful. Has spinning wheel of death in main area and a load of French! Will not restore purchase of recognise subscription unless you delete and reinstall every time you want to use. Takes longer faffing with app than reading the magazine! I’d give it no stars if I could

  • Terrible app

    Love reading this magazine and I’ve had a previous 1 year subscription and I did have to keep on restoring my purchases constantly. But I renewed for a second year in June time and since then I’ve had problems actually downloading the latest magazines as it keeps on getting stuck on download. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app and lots of other things to try to resolve this but to no luck. I contacted apple as my subscription was with them and they were very very helpful and I could see it was an issue with the app development. I would ring up the magazine/ app company and they just will not help you at all, they just repeat “as your subscription is with apple please contact them”. I got so frustrated in the end apple helped me to get a refund for my year subscription. It’s the magazines loss as they just would not help me in any way so my money has now gone to another online magazine instead.

  • Subscription but unable to view

    Having issues with downloading despite having a subscription. I get half way through and a get a window asking if I want to complete my collection with past issues. No way to get off this page. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still same issue. Only way is to pay for the issue despite having a subscription!

  • Dreadful App

    This is the worst app I have ever encountered, most weeks it forgets that I have a subscription so I have to restore the purchases…this usually takes 3 or 4 attempts then once it has been restored it takes a further 3 or 4 attempts to get it to download. There is also a problem with the pages of the magazine freezing as you scroll through them. I have a 12 month subscription but I will not be repurchasing as it is far too much hassle. Much quicker just to pop a hard copy in my supermarket trolley when I do my weekly shop. Shame because obviously having an online copy is environmentally friendly but this particular app is not customer friendly

  • Annual subscription failed after 4 months of use

    This app repeatedly ‘forgets’ that I have an annual subscription and I have to restore it from within the app. Finally, after 4 months it would not renew. Followed all the advice to re-install app, etc. then called customer services who couldn’t help as they had no record of my postcode in France or my name. My wife has a different subscription for the same magazine and her one failed at the same time. Customer services couldn’t find her name or the English postcode she used to subscribe with. Will have to look for another provider of this, or similar magazine, having lost 8 and 9 months worth of payment, respectively.

  • Useless

    I foolishly renewed for a second year. Now with seven months still in subscription it is asking me to pay to download next issue. Had same problem last year. So deleted and reinstalled app. Now it won’t restore purchases. Keeps saying trying but issues still not loading. Have now sent email to Whatsontv - not holding out much hope of success. AVOID at all cost!

  • Doesn’t work and no-one cares

    This app repeatedly ‘forgets’ that I have an annual subscription and often leaves me with no choice but to pay again for an issue before I can read it. ‘Restore Purchases’ makes no difference, re-installing the app makes no difference - often have to try several times, sometimes it fixes it and sometimes it doesn’t. Simply useless - and the evidence of these reviews and the “Help” articles prove that this has been an ongoing problem for years. Not sure I’ll bother to subscribe again - or to any other magazines from Future, come to that, if this is what the app quality and support is like.

  • I have been sent a sampler

    Even though I have a years subscription I have been sent a sampler issue for 99p instead of the full version. I clicked on the 99p to see if I could get the full version instead I was told that they had trouble taking the payment but don’t worry no money as been taken. When I checked my bank statement 99p had been taken and I still haven’t got the full version. What is going on?

  • Application Is Dodgy

    I’ve had a problem with What’s on TV with my iPhone and iPad since this morning. It’s not downloading any recent issues on my iPad. Then on my iPhone, had to try and delete and install the application again and now I can’t even purchase the magazine, or get my subscription to work again. Why am I paying for a subscription fee for a application that hasn’t even worked for me the whole day? I’m a regular reader of What’s On TV, and I seriously expect to get a better service than this. Please sort it out ASAP What’s On TV and Future PLC.

  • Sick Of This.

    I’ve cancelled my subscription once before. But thought I’d give it another go. I have an active subscription. But every time a new issue comes out it tries to offer me a free trial with 99p involved for some reason. I have to restore my purchases to download it. This new app is a complete failure. More trouble than it’s worth. Why scrap the old version that worked fine. You need to get your act together, or just take this rubbish off the store.
