  • Unusable

    As the title says
  • Actually Solid App

This app is perfectly useable, don’t be deterred by the other reviews
  • Worked seamlessly with Apple Pay

Not sure why the reviews are so low. Installed the app, crested an account, paid with a credit card I had in Apple Pay and then could see the Velib pass in my wallet immediately.
  • warning: this is a scam

the codes they send you will not work. the pass does not work. they do not read customer feedback
  • Need to remember login

    Cannot connect with email address.
  • Couldn’t use this app

I couldn’t work out how to rent a bike. It has changed from when I used it before. There were no instructions either.
  • Worst app maybe there is out there

Probably the most confusing app, worst bikes and worst service. Do never download this app. It is against human error so you can’t never undo an action. You are trapped by any action and you don’t know what you did because It doesn’t give you feedback while using it. If the bike is working (very unlikely) you will face the worst interface ever that won’t help you, it is confusing and frustrating . It is just a very poor designed interface, terrible user experience and horrible bikes. Never seen worst app in my life.

  • Vélib’ is French for defeat

As the popular local expression goes:

    “IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.”
  • Use Lime, Uberbikes or Dot

Downloaded the app, all seemed ok at first. Bought a 24 hour e-bike pass only to find that all of the e-bikes at the station I was at didn’t work. Went with a normal bike which was in a shocking state. Rode to another station which was showing as having e-bike availability. Returned normal bike but then couldn’t get another bike at all, e-bike or normal bike. Every time I tried to take one the app pinged to suggest I could take one only to find it wouldn’t let me. After about 15 mins of trying it eventually let me have another bike. Rode around Paris no problem. Returned the bike and went for a late lunch. When in returned later, again no e-bikes that worked and again the system wouldn’t let me take a bike. Just like earlier in the day, it took me about 15 minutes to get a bike released and it wasn’t an e-bike which I’d paid for on the day pass. As a direct result of the delay on getting the last bike released I missed my train home by 1 minute. If the system had worked then I’d have made the train no problem.
All in all a very underwhelming experience. Next time I’m in Paris it will be Lime, Uber Bikes or Dot. I won’t bother with this anymore. I can’t say whether it was as a direct result of the app or whether there were other issues but whichever I would suggest one of the alternatives.
