Great Idea. User Interface Woes.
As a reef aquarist, I commend the hardware. However the user interface on a 6s running iOS 10 is clunky and difficult to navigate. It's not very intuitive compared to the relative ease of use on other iOS apps. I continually get hanging dialogue boxes "configuring" or "loading algorithm." These more often than not do not resolve themselves. Force closing rarely fixes the issue. Often I go to the "store" section and nothing appears. Although the flow of user screens is sometimes hard to follow, when it works the test results are solid. The software interface needs to step up to the level of quality in the hardware and test regents.Show lessStephenS

I have been testing pools for almost 30 years, with all types of test kits. But the ease,accuracy and convenience of the idip to run, read, store and calculate test results has made my job so much easier and less time consuming. And the ability to pull up archive test from the app to track that you and your customers are going in the right direction with your chemical dosing and trending pool parameters is just such a breeze. It is right at your finger tips. It is also really nice to be able to email results from the app to my customers and receive email results from my customers and enter them manually into your results on the app for archiving. The Professional way to test water
Over the past decade I have been involved in the water business. During this time, I have tested more water than I can imagine. Most of my tests were drop counts type tests with visual color comparison. These test work but are limited by how good your eyesight is. Being partially color blind, I sometimes felt I was guessing rather than being accurate about water testing. And with the high cost of other photometers and their limited number of tests, I opted to not invest. But now, with the introduction of the iDip meter, I decided to invest. And WOW! What a great product. Using an electronic eye to measure the water quality is just perfect. And the integration with my iPad makes our company stand out as the professional water company to purchase from. My customers gain confidence in our company seeing us test their water using professional equipment which integrates to my iPad. Good idea, poor execution
I refuse to pay for algorithms to use my iDip. apparently, the only way to get a test result is through the app which is linked to the unit via bluetooth. What if you don't have an app enabled phone? Why should I pay for each test algorithm I want to run? Talk about milking every last drop from the consumer...geez people. I pay for the unit, I pay for the test strips, now I have to pay for the algorithm to see the test results? Go to he**...you've crossed the line!!!Show lessanother momo
Bugs
Newest version is flawed, you cannot save tests to customer, app crashes when you try to save. You can't rely on this app to work when you need it, don't bother with downloading the app or spending money on their tester as it is not ready for commercial use.Tropicpoolcleaning
