*update, midi controller m audio keystation 32, only works with synth 1. I don't wanna use touch screen, please fix. I can't even copy patterns from seq 1 to seq 2. If I'm on synth 1, that's what's hear and control. If I switch to synth 2 I still hear and control synth 1. As far as I can see it shows nothing about midi support so you can just tell me where to go, but I'm then keeping the star I took from rating.

    Whoa he's got a hostage

Man, I'm gonna sound as good as VNV Nation or Covenant.
Sounds so good. I am like the other guy, bought ims-20 yesterday...was enjoying so checked this out. I didn't realize the difference until he pointed it out. This is a little more tricky to find everything, but you basically have step sequencer which rules, kaoss pads, recorded midi input....effects are rad, sound is rad, I bought it on sale but even if I had to pay $20 I would. Just got a new m audio midi controller compatible with iPad if you use apple camera connector. Don't delay buy this. I got out of the hardware game a couple of years ago cause unless you play live, hardware is kind of dead. Long live soft synths, long live Korg!

  • Awesome best music app

This app it's the most awesome app to make some electronic music by far I have tried several and this one beats all of them by far. If you got 15 buck to spare don't buy any other app buy this one. You can make your own sounds in everything drums and synths that's what I love about it. The only thing I wish it had its a voice recorder to put words in your songs that would make this app perfect.

  • Best Music App Yet

This is the only app I have been able to make a useable song in. It has several sequencers in it and drums. Very easy to get something going. Great scratchpad. Plus the Polysix is a great emulation with lots of knobs. Very analog and very realistic. You must get it.
  • Better than ims20

I wish I had known about this before buying the korg ims20 app. This one has better sounds, is way more intuitive, and has less cumbersome polyphony. Very happy with this, but bummed I wasted so much on the other app. This and the figure app by propeller head are all you need.
  • Niceeee

I've done a good apps shopping today bought me a real nice synth apps.....animoog , alchemy synth and this one. I dont regret any purchase i've made today. I really like this app ! No joke ! I love it ! Sounds so good and the interface is smooooth. I will even buy it if its $31. Yes..Its worth it ! Thanks guys ! I cant stop playing it...

  • Innovative yet Archaic

Latency results in sequencer parallax, always. So every melody 1/16th note has to be adjusted, along with tie/velocity. Asinine.
Learning that clearing a track leaves a 4bar kick and a 1/16th A is annoying.
Adjusting metronome should be available on drum screen, why is it on the mixer?
Having an on/ off click rather than a dud bar would be useful.
Sounds: depth and complexity are phenomenal.
Effects: multiple knob memory: mind bogglingly enjoyable.
I wish there was an undo button sometimes.
I could almost make a full song if I could get four instruments and a graphic interface that showed arrangement, but that's what I use FLMobileStudio for.
Copying and pasting patterns seems blind, I wish there was a piano roll GUI.
I love posting and listening on sound cloud, very motivating.
With the sequencer, and multiple knob memory this app is way more useful and enjoyable than Animoog.
With iPolysix when I decide to post something I have a strong sense of ownership about the sound I feel I have created, and yet the outcome is always way beyond my control and vastly more interesting than I had imagined.

  • Great synth studio

But you need to allow an easier method for inputting specific tempos - ok figure out the flick method. Not intuitive but works fine once you're aware.
  • Fantastic sounding, but needs modern features.

First off, this is a fantastic sounding model of the Polysix. It is very well implemented and does what it does well. The sequencer is a little cumbersome, in an old school analog way, but very functional for what it does. My only gripes are that Korg needs to add standard features for modern iOS synths. These features include: Audiobus support, background audio, and virtual MIDI. If these were added, this app would be 5 star and I could recommend it without hesitation. As it is, it's a good app if you don't mind making music in Korg's walled garden.

UPDATE: THANK YOU KORG FOR LISTENING! Now with background audio and Audiobus, this is one of the BEST synths for iOS! FIVE STARS!

  • Don't believe the hype!

Not as good as iKaossilator. This app contains many bugs that make you just scream. If you like old junky keyboards, this app is for you. The kaoss pads are not as good as others claim especially if you are left handed. The sequencer is an unusable time consuming mess. And what's with all the SoundCloud file sharing support. You realize that you can't use any of that commercially don't you? SoundCloud often blocks uploads claiming that they are in copyright violation.

Korg, why can't you give us what we want? We want iKaossilator 2 with new sounds and the ability to mix volumes for each track.
Also, while you are making the revisions add in a CLEAR button like Propellerhead Figure has.

The actual sound of the keyboard is good so you get two stars for that.

  • Korg has done it again.

These guys know how to make top apps and they have done it again with one. I am a huge fan of the Korg apps. I find this to be considerably easier to use from the first time you start it over the iMS20. I also like the way you can share you music with others to Remix it. Nice touch. Wist is fun....Audiobus capable in the future would rock.
