The piecepack game system is a set of components you can use to play many board games. Think of it as a standard deck of cards for board games.
This app puts a beautiful virtual piecepack set in your iPad. Easily manipulate the different pieces to make boards and play many of the games available for the system.
Supports RETINA displays if available but can also use lower resolution graphics for better performance.
Flip, rotate, move group and lock pieces (supports multi-touch so more than one player can interact at the same time).
Pan and zoom the table to adjust for the board size and then lock it so you don't accidentally change it.
The app supports hidden information games by using hands where you can store any type of piece.
Table layout is saved when you exit the app, so you can resume a game later. You can also save and load table layouts for quick setup of your favorite games. These files can be shared through iTunes, Email or on the web.
The app includes a few layouts for some of our favorite games.
Note that this app doesn't enforce any game rules.

One thing I noticed is that saving a layout does not save the rotational info of each piece - it would be very handy if it could do that! Another request would be the ability to group by type - e.g. if you had several disks on top of several tiles, group just the disks, or just the tiles. Finally, it would be great to be able to rotate an entire group as a whole, and to drag a whole group into your hand. These are just suggestions to enhance an already great implementation, though!
Awesome implementation of Piecepack
This is an awesome app. It does everything you could want it to do for a Piecepack app. I just wish there were an app this good for regular cards! I really love the semi-snapping feature - when pieces are close to each other, they kind of snap together. And the save and load table layouts is perfect. I can't think of anything to add. Perfect!
