Pirate phonics
Exceptional, brilliant, wonderful. I have used this app with children aged 2 to 10 years and they have all loved it whether it was a big challenge for those totally new to letters or fluent readers who just loved firing the cannons!! I have especially trialled it with children who have significant learning delays, such as Down Syndrome, and they have all loved it, picked up what to do readily and it has held their interest as the tasks are short and varied. Can't praise it highly enough - I work as an educational psychologist and recommend it all the time.

Best Phonics App
We have downloaded many phonics / reading based apps, most of which are not worth their money. This app teaches well, and captures my child's attention for long periods of time. The characters are great, and some of the mini games are particularly good, especially the unlocking the chest game which really got her thinking about how words are made up of phonics. Can't recommend this highly enough really.

Need more!
This is the best phonics practice app I have yet found. My daughter loves the story line and stays engaged for almost an hour at a time. I like the consistency and structured development.
The gamisation really works, though I would like to see it developed further. Most of all, though, I just want more content! More islands, more exercises to go up to more complex levels.

Great phonics app
My 4 year old boy loves this app and returns to it time after time. Easy to use, clear speech and lots of different ways to teach the same phonics. He particularly likes firing at the ships and walking the plank! Great work from Unit11 and very impressed with their customer service following an issue with opening the app initially. Also have their times table app which my 7 year old loves to use.
