Poor app

The magazine itself is great, but the digital edition is poor. No bookmark facility, no go to...facility, you have to go through the whole magazine to get back to where you left off.
Then there's the log in! After signing up, I had a confirmation email, but then couldn't sign in, as "my email wasn't registered" Trying to register, just got me "your email is already registered." There appears to be no help, there is an email, but you get no response. In the end, I was forced to use a different email & hope. Fortunately this did work on the second attempt.
All things considered, this is pretty much useless.

Poor performing downloads.......

Don't know why these magazines continue with such a clunky slow service like Pocketmags...there are so many much better ones out there (Zinio for one). I buy magazines, not only does it take ages to download ( and no it's not my connection as everything else including the above competitor downloads in a heart beat at the same time). There customer service is a joke....must be part time school students given the dismissive level of answers sent back. I can only assume they are spending little on servers and speed and pocketing the profit. Magazines, and you wonder why your dying...

Not worth having

I really wanted this to work, as I now read my newspaper on the iPad and saw the great opportunity to do so withRail. The basic instructions are hidden on the contacts page, the buttons to access the meagre extras being sparse and not that noticeable, beware! There is not much additional in the iPad version and no use of the potential an iPad version could offer. What you get is a simple photo of each double page. If you have ever used a newspaper app prepare to be very disappointed.

RAIL gets it right with this App!

This is a really good app. It balances good resolution and functionality with added benefits from the technology of being online. The portrait and landscape ability allows readers to see things clearly and wholly (important when it comes to cross page pictures or stories).

The "gallery" function applied to some articles is a great bonus and provides a level of interactivity that's useful. There is a good index and layout choice available for the reader too. Available on Saturdays ahead of the fortnightly Wednesday publication the app also ensures that subscribers get their news on a timely basis.

RAIL have got this first release of their app right and I recommend it to anyone with a serious and current interest in railways and transport in the UK.
