Review
Overall the app is useful and allows me to keep track of our vehicles and teenager’s driving habits. I verified the speed is very accurate as is the location. There is sometimes a slight time delay with the notifications, but nothing major. The custom geofences are very easy to setup and allows you to get alerts when the vehicle exits or enters one of the geofences.
There are a couple improvements I would like to see:
- The app randomly logs me out every few weeks and I’m forced to log back in. This is extremely frustrating since none of my other apps do this. Not sure if this happens when they push new updates or if there’s some other reason. MOTOSafety has reached out to me and think it’s caused by my phone but I still believe it’s an app issue. I’ve had 2 different iPhones and it behaves the same on both of them.
- If someone unplugs the device I only get notified once it’s reconnected. It would be more helpful if it sends an alert when it’s disconnected.

Thank you for your feedback. Our mobile team is looking into why you have to log-inn again after the update, but you should be able to use your existing password.
App update 3.x made things worse.
I agree with the other reviews. After using this app for several years during which it was excellent, now beginning with update 3.x the user interface is convoluted, data reporting is inaccurate and overall the functionally is unreliable. Identifying the vehicle location now takes much longer, route replay is not as accurate as before, literally leaves me guessing which road was traveled, real-time directional icon always points the wrong way (points north when traveling south, etc), so who knows which way the vehicle is headed. Maybe motosafety can bring back the prior version as a “light” version, and keep the 3.x app as the “full featured” version while also fixing the issues. Currently I’ve gone from elated with the 2.x app to very disappointed with the 3.x app.

What is happening
This app used to be simple and easy to use. Your two recent updates are terrible. I want to track with the satellite and when you attempt to see everywhere the driver has been it reverts back to the tiny little map! I need to see where the car has been!! Please fix this! If people want a complete report they can log in to the website. This app needs to be simple like before these really bad updates. We will move to a different device if need be-I also have recommended this to others but now rethinking my now bad advice!!

Use to be great, now it’s horrible
I don’t know why companies feel the need to always change things, but for the most part when they do it it is for the worse. I use to love this before they updated it. Now I ONLY use it to find the location of the vehicle do to its now cluttered, glitchy and difficult to use maps. It was simple and very effective. Now it is garbage. In the past I constantly bragged about it to parents, but now I have to crawfish back out of my previous glee of it and offer any other possible option but Moto safety. Simply put the revamp app is junk.

Hate the redesign
It would be 4 stars if the redesign wasn’t so terrible. I’ve tried living with it thinking I would get use to it, but I can’t. I hate it. It’s so cluttered and I can’t *see* the info I need to see. The A and B buttons are so big that they cover up the time the car is parked. I try to zoom, but that doesn’t separate the time parked from the A covering it. And what’s with the gas tank? I don’t need to see that or the huge banner on top of the location. Also, the large color banners at the bottom obscure 1/3 of the map! And on the Route Replay, the huge bar of the date/time obscure the top 1/3. The new layout is craptastic! I preferred seeing a clean map and tapping on the options for route replay or current location. Yes, you can click multiple icons to clear the messy, large banners obscuring the map to see the info you paid to see. But who wants to tap three different icons to clear them every single time I want to see just the map on a route replay?? Please clean it up or allow us to customize (set a default view) what we see. And get rid of the huge A and B markers. We can see where a route started and ended without them obscuring the info.

Great Device, App needs tweaking
We have had this in our kids’ car for close to 2 years. This is our second driver to use MOTOSafety.
I love knowing if my kid has arrived safely, where they are when they get rerouted or are “lost”.
I am not terribly fond of the app update, while it has added needed features that were only available on a pc before, it is more difficult to navigate and toggle between route and current place. I think the map looked nicer before as well.

Great for a month then the honeymoon is over
Got the original unit and it performed pretty well. There were location issues on the map and several false readings then it just stopped responding. Very difficult to get a replacement and very slow to respond by customer service. Online chat was obviously set up for sales and not service. Left message “forced to leave message” several times and took days to get a call back. Units are going back to MOTOsafety and we will try another solution. Beware that Linxup is the same group, may be rebranding due to service issues. My replacement came in a Linxup box with the same support number.

Great App - Works As Promised
Had this for a couple of years on several iPhone and two different cars. Never had a problem; setup was simple; works perfectly, though sometimes I think it shows a higher speed than what I could possibly have been doing.......
Overall OK, but needs improvement.
Excellent tracking and accuracy overall. In my case, I found what I think is a bug with the refresh button. It's very intermittent, sometimes it works, sometimes not. When it's not working, and you press the refresh icon, it does absolutely nothing. You have to log out and back in and then it works again. Also, as far as functionality, the user should be able to enter geofences from the app. This should not be restricted to a PC. Major drawback in my opinion.

WAS a great app, but this is an AWFUL update
Even though the app is supposed to auto refresh when on the map page, mine does not. I have to go back to the main menu, then back to the map to see a refresh. Please bring back the refresh button! Also, having to click the route replay button in order to see vehicle information makes NO sense. Mi app also stopped reporting the fuel level after the update. Now it only reports 0.0%% for fuel even when the tank is full. Seems like this 'update' takes the app about three steps backward.
