Beginner Gardener’s Dream App

I was overwhelmed with the vast amount of information on gardening and this app is easy to use and beginner friendly. With many tips and informative guides specific to your location, it has made me enjoy every step of the learning process. Highly recommend!

Love the app, but…..

I love the app. It works for my garden. I would like to see a larger selection for a bigger garden. The biggest size of garden I am able to plot is 24x 16. I have a 14 x 30 ft garden space. In order to use the app correctly, I have to have a 24 x 14. Is there anyway we could get a larger garden size in the app?
I do enjoy the plotting part of the app. It works to help keep me on track with planting and watering.

So far, I’m loving it!

I had always hoped to find an app like this that makes not only the planning of my garden easy, but also remembering to water, etc. I love that it can diagnose problems and has TONS of information to help you be successful in growing. It even tells you how many plants you can plant per square foot and if it’s next to companion plants or not. I docked a star for a couple of things, and maybe I just haven’t found them yet, but where there is a reminder to water, you can’t manually add rainfall. That would be a nice add and especially if you could track how much rain the plants got. Another thing, and again, I just may not have found it yet, I wish there was a way to track plant maintenance like fertilizer or even pesticides used and for what. The final thing is being able to manually enter when they sprout so that it keeps track of that as well. Ultimately, this app offers so much and what you get for the price seems very fair, but I do think it needs a few tweaks. I would definitely recommend this app, but developers, if you’re listening, think you could add a few more little options? Please? 🥰

GrowIt app for my garden

This really helps first time/new vegetable gardeners. It even detects if you have had rain, so it lets you know when to water/ when not to water, when to fertilize, harvest, disease/ insects, and gives hints on how to care without insecticides. It also informs you on how to get and treat seeds and vegetables for growing the next season.

Great App for Beginning Gardeners

Update: I didn’t continue far enough after taking a photo to find the days until harvest. If you use this from planting to harvest, this is a great app. Lots of info. The only complaint is that it doesn’t have info for several of the things I’ve planted, but it seems to have the basics.

Great for beginners. Thank you developers for the answer!!

I saw an add on social media that insinuated that you could take a picture of a fruit and it would tell you how many days until it is ripe. I thought, interesting, how can an app do that. I downloaded and started the free trial. I’m thankful for the trial because I don’t see anything in the app that tells you time until ripe. Nice try, but I won’t need the other info in the app. I can research pretty easily without paying a fee. I will say though, for a beginner gardener, there is some useful info all in one place. I just wish they wouldn’t give people false hope of functionality that is probably not even possible, let alone a function of the app.

Imo.

Need more information on specifics of vegetables.

Example: carrots.
Not enough information about the different ways to germinate carrots, the pros and cons of transplanting compared to direct planting relating too just carrots.
Maybe try and not have so many generic links to germinating, harvesting etc.

Need more varieties of the plants and their subs and have a notification or similar that tells you if the vege/ flower are ready to plant indoors/outdoors according to your location as well as upcoming future planting suggestions.

The app should tick off watering jobs if it has been raining.

Apo would be great to have an insect management plan for invasive insects. Bug id , organic control vs chemical, especially to specific plants and how ton control and combat them.

love

love it!! Would be nice to have the photos stored for each plant to see progress. Also It would be easier to see the data for each plant on front page versus clicking the edit button to see each plant

Very limited plant options

I was excited to try this app- especially to layout my garden beds for each season. But I was only able to create one plant bed (?)- I need to have at least 4 different ones. It would also be helpful if you could create garden bed layout for each season, and have them at the ready, so to speak. I also was not able to find several of the plants I needed to add to my garden beds (for example dwarf Siberian kale). I understand it would be hard to have all vegetables/plants available, but perhaps there can be a way to add a plant to your library if it’s not in there? And then be able to add that into your garden bed plan.
