Highly recommended!!
One of the best features for us in cooler climates is that it uses your customizable frost date to determine what can be planted in your garden. I find so many ppl ask, “can I still plant __ in zone __?” which is very dependant on your frost date. The app takes all the guess work and tells you exactly how many weeks you have before average frost. I anticipate it will do the same in the spring.
I’ve still got a few items on the wishlist for this app, however it is my favourite gardening app available and I have no issues recommending it. Every gardener will find an incredible number of useful features to save time on planning and research, resulting in more time in the garden. Such a win!
Original review: Can be a useful resource but it’s missing some key features to justify the price: - Canadian weather stations. I can customize my location and frost dates, but weather features are based on the closest US station which are not accurate for my location. This is the biggest reason I haven’t subscribed. - Seed collection. There’s also nowhere to track your seeds so you’ll still need a different app for that. Instead there’s a lot of info on the US-based seeds they sell. - Garden layout. You can add your plants to your gardens, but there is no layout option to plan what goes where. UI is a little chunky but there’s a ton of info available even in the preview version. AI Bot is handy for questions. Overall, it’s among the best developed gardening apps available (there’s not a lot to choose from) *if you’re in the US*. It’s just not friendly enough to Canadians to warrant this price. Developers seem very nice and active taking feedback from their community so I will watch for future updates. In the meantime, I will stick to my collection of free and low cost apps.
