It does keep score.
Basic app but intuitive it is not. No linkage for your name to your golf club/course creating too many steps to set up a game.
To view all screen information phone needs to be in landscape rather than portrait position.
Continuously informing me of an upgrade required which doesn’t appear to exist when hitting the “upgrade now” button.

Update required
Every time I open this app I am told there is an update however there is nowhere in the spp that I can see to update, what is the point of it if you cannot update when toldNeilj54
Tracks your handicap and that’s about it.
The disabling of the cross border scores being entered is quite literally the most bizarre decision. The new app is actually a step backwards, impressive really. In all honesty it’s a useless app, it does nothing more than howdidido and that’s hardly the worlds best app. Enable the cross border play (no England and New Zealand don’t count). I do wonder why we all pay a Scottish golf affiliation fee for this app…Show lessS-Wright
Needs more work
If a golf club has multiple courses or similar named layouts and Tee options you can’t see the full description in the text as it only shows a limited amount of text. You end up taking pot luck and picking one you think is right then starting again when it isn’t!camiegill
Poor
The app is very poor. The reasons for saying this are too numerous to list.
My question is why is the app needed at all. Like many clubs we have good software from ClubV1. This used to contain handicap data but no longer does because it is not provided by Scottish Golf. Just provide a link to CDH to ClubV1 and others who could then provide clubs with a single app with bar and club shop accounts, time booking, sign in, score entry and handicap records and club news etc.Show less_Bandit
Pathetic
It’s like the Handicap System, pathetic. Most Golfer’s knew from the onset of the last Handicap System it was unfit for purpose but it took a few years for them supposedly in the know to change things. Why did they not admit they got it wrong and go back to the old system. I suppose this is what happens when pen pushers and not golfers make decisions.Show lessdave33w
Really poor
I was involved at my local club when they were using the VMS system, the admin side of the VMS was pretty clunky but the player interface was really good. Its the complet opposite with this app, no real way of verifying scores, having to go onto the website to access certain features, just poor, also sometimes drops out during a round!!

Flawed
Useful for tracking handicap, but some basic flaws. When entering a score, if you don’t have a constant, stable mobile data connection, the scoring regularly resets, causing you to lose some scores entered since you last had access to sync. Given that most courses in Scotland aren’t in build-up areas and don’t have a phone mast in the middle of them, this seems a nonsensical requirement.
Also, you have the option in the settings to determine which push notifications you receive, however this appears to have no impact. I have “Scottish Golf Messages” switched off, but I still receive push notifications for random, unwanted, promotional messages that Scottish Golf send me.Show lessMcTee1908
Hopeless
Even though i am logged in, booking to play in an Open Competition at another course is a tortuous experience. To find the competitions you need to navigate to to the vision an strategy about Scottish Golf page. Then hidden away in the menu are competitions. Then search for a course and it defaults to THIS WEEK. And despite searching for a particular course it defaults to ANY distance away. So you get ALL results all over Scotland. And even when you get through all of that you are unable to book a place as it asks you to again login despite being logged in. Possibly the worst app and booking experience.Show lessALTAYRSHIRE
Impossible to update to latest version
The latest version is supposed to allow General Play scores. However with the old version installed I can find no way to update to the latest version. I tried deleting the old version on my iPhone but no joy getting the new version and now it won’t even accept my login and password. Tried password rest. Works on the webpage but not the app. Don’t waste your time trying to get the app to work.Show lessEarl dave
