Mixed feelings about app & speakers

I honestly don’t know how to review these speakers.

I’ll start with the good things: Sound quality is good, not amazing, but good — bass boost helps; the build quality seems like the best thing about them; solar panels seem to do their job.

Cons: You can only update one speaker at a time (12-15 minutes each update); the app only supports connecting and updates (nothing else); pairing and syncing speakers is finicky; app updates seem rare and limited in scope; no EQ or ability to interact with the audio settings at all.

I have Ultimate Ears and JBL Party Boxes, which seem comparable in audio quality to Lodge, but their (JBL and UE) app features and user experiences are far superior. Literally, the only thing that differentiates Lodge is the solar panels. For the cost though, I’m not sure that’s enough to warrant keeping them.

It’d be great to have some sort of idea when planned releases are, and what features we could expect. It’d at least give us some hope there’s a plan in place to start closing some competitive gaps.

It’s bittersweet because these speakers could be so much better with updates to the app and software. I have 30 days to figure out what I’m doing with them.

Updates now

I had trouble updating the speakers as others have noted. I tried again after a few months and it worked now. I didn’t realize that that’s all the app does now. It’s been a long time since lodge promised equalizer and other functionality. Wondering if product support is dying.

Update of speaker constantly fails

The app won’t update the speaker…

Speakers won’t update

Can’t get speakers to update. Continually fails.

Easy to do!

Pretty easy to do and directions are self explanatory with common sense. It does take about 20 minutes for each speaker to update. Looking forward to a more robust app.
