The best tool to get fit and healthy
I am so happy I stumbled across gains by brains YouTube channel. I started to try the mic’ed up workouts on there first for a month and fell in love with the style of her workouts. I recently got the app a few months ago. I’ve been using it three times a week and I am absolutely in love with it. The workouts are encouraging and at a nice pace for me because I like low impact workouts because I have a lot of injuries - but just because it’s approachable it doesn’t mean it isn’t super efficient and effective. I already seen and felt results. My boyfriend who is a professional basketball player has started doing the workouts with me and is equally as impressed as I am with the app and is really happy that I found it. I’m doing my second month of the home transform program and I look forward to doing more and more of these impressive workouts.

G by B app
Overall a solid app. Would I say beginner friendly? Not sure. Things seem very fast paced with no way to pause, difficult to track progress, difficult to maneuver in commercial gym, plus some personal preferences.
Lots of potential though.

Great workouts, Poor app
The workouts and programs on the app are great. Minimizes gym stress and provides a solid structure for me to follow. The meals and nutrition are an added bonus though I don’t use that often. I’m a big fan of Sophie and love to support her. The app still needs a lot of work, compared to other ones on the market.
Problems:
1. Doesn’t specify when/if to switch on single leg movements (ex the B Stance hip thrust on Leg: Every rep counts). The time provided is too short if we are expected to switch. I have to work into the rest time.
2. No pause option while in you’re in a workout.
3. Needs alternative options if a machine is taken or dumbbells options if barbell not available.
The Alive app by Whitney Simmons is much better in functionality and interface, although I prefer this app in terms of actual programming. I bought the Black Friday annual subscription for $40 so I’ll continue to stick with it for now. Really hope this app improves

Nutritional Component Lacking
If you follow Sophie or go to her website, she is all about macros, yet there is none of this in the app to personalize the nutritional part of being healthy. Also no ability to tailor or filter by allergy or preference.
👌🏼
Great app, easy to use and keep track of your fitness goals. Makes accountability and consistency easy when you have your week planned out for you with the programs! I like the customization of the app to have a program created for you to fit your schedule/goals/location. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking to improve their fitness!

On its way being a great fitness app
I’ve been using gains by brains app now for about a year and overall it’s pretty good but there are a few essential features I think it’s missing. When you start a program, even if you haven’t done every workout once the time has elapsed it automatically says that you’ve completed it when you haven’t. So I’m having to go back figure out which program I was on in which week so I can complete the program for real, so that could be fixed. Also, if they had alternative exercises for times maybe a machine isn’t available in the gym or you don’t have access to that equipment that would be good.

Love the workouts
Love her just not a fan of the app. I like being able to pause the breaks or workouts to take my time for form or get water and you can’t pause it.
Thank you!
I’ve trained for a good portion of my life but tend to fall in and out of love with it because of lack of routine. This evidence-based app has made me feel so excited for each of my workouts.
