  • So far so good

I was nervous downloading this app due to the low number of reviews, however it seems very professional and works as stated.

It’s a bit clunky to code on the phone, I’m doing a lot of copy and pasting as I’m on a low level module, but the iphone keyboard is very slow to input what I want having to toggle back and forth between characters and numbers.

That is definitely not the apps fault, but it makes it tedious.

Overall I’m pleased with the app, it was impossible using mobile browsers, so this is a pleasant surprise.

Hopefully I can continue to use this regularly!

  • I can't get it to work

I'm so glad that this app is finally here but I can't get it to work, I can not sign in with my email, it takes forever and when it finally stops, it says I am logged in but yet still Anonymous. I really look forward to it working on my phone. Good job for the app.

  • The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

    The Good
Lots of information and structure provided for learning HTML, CSS, and Python (Having never used HTML before I was able to finish the basic HTML Web Development course in a few hours.)

    The Bad
This app has a few bugs that became apparent after just a few hours of using it, however it is worth noting that none of these bugs hinder your ability to learn and progress through the courses.

    The Ugly
Progress is saved, but does not visually appear for the user. They have unfilled circles by each module and steps in white lettering. Upon completing a step the lettering stays white, and upon completing a module the circle remains unfilled. Its demotivating when looking at the modules or steps as it visually would seem like you are making no progress, even though you are constantly learning and becoming more familiar with the information. I would highly suggest making the step number turn green when a step has been finished and likewise having the unfilled circle fill green when a module is completed.

    Conclusion:
This app is a highly accessible, free tool with room for improvement, that will provided you the structure and information you need to be successful.
If you are looking to learn HTML, CSS, and/or Python and currently have little to no experience coding with these languages this app is for you.

Thanks for your insightful review. On the topic of displaying progress, we do that when the user is signed in and you see a blue box around each step you finish along with the module becomes checked when all steps are completed. Also could you email us at mobile@freecodecamp.org with the bugs you came across when using the app.
