Calibrex User Reviews

Top reviews

An expensive refrigerator magnet.

Negatives:
1. Reps were almost always off. I kept a log - Sometimes by 1, but often by a larger amount.
2. Battery life was poor. 1 workout and that was it.
3. I submitted 2 support emails, no reply to either.
4. Frequently my workout would reset and get list if I had to reconnect.
5. With no warning, my device logged me out (While offline). I could not recover my password/log in. Re-Registering worked, but all my workout data is lost.
Positives:
1. The magnets are very strong and even hold on dumbbells nicely.
2. The charts/graphs produced are nice.

More customization needed in workout plan

I want to give feedback on the exercise feature in the app. Currently, the app's exercise tracking is limited and inflexible. It follows a very linear sequence, and I find it difficult to adjust the order and sequence of exercises or add/remove reps based on the availability of gym equipment. It would be helpful to have the option to make these adjustments for a more personalized and adaptable workout experience.

S&C Perspective

Really wanted to love the device but just not accurate. I loved how mobile it was with just the magnet or wristband. However, it would typically miss half my reps on every exercise :(. Customer service was great and pushed out more updates to try to correct. Unfortunately it just didnโ€™t get the job done, but they were great and refunded upon return. So instead I doubled the price and went with the Flex which is 100% accurate but not as mobile as only tracks barbell exercises. I see the potential here, itโ€™s just not there yet!

Super pricey device

Device does not record properly and Apps UI is virtually unusable.

Want to like itโ€ฆ

Really want to like this device, and as a powerlifter, it would be extremely useful. Unfortunately, itโ€™s way too early for this to be of any use. Reps arenโ€™t tracked properly, velocity is missing on majority of performed lifts, app is clunky and not intuitive, cannot switch between imperial and metric units per exercise, etc. and thatโ€™s not counting the app UI itself (which, the less said the better).
Overall, feels like I wasted $300.

Fair pricing / good people

Team actively communicates with users, seeks feedback and incorporates requested features regularly. Cool young company that seems to care. I thought the price was more than fair given other options in this space!

Needed this

Hardware shipped quickly and set up was easy, don't need anything beyond whats in the box so convenient to travel with. Gives me great insights into where I'm at and how and when it's time to level up. I use mainly for powerlifting and tracking my routines.

Needed this

Surprised to see such negative reviews here! Any issue I ran into was addressed by a real person. Glad to see something for weights in the fitness tracker space this has given me all the data I could reasonably ask for, new features roll out continually, etc. Name another wireless VBT option at this price point?

Concept there but horrible execution

Canโ€™t pair the device at all.. username not accepted, etc.. too many flaws in app and device. Will be contacting to return if this is what it isโ€ฆ shame on you for putting this junk on the market when it wasnโ€™t ready!

Very Disappointing Experience

Former collegiate strength and conditioning coach that was interested in the potentially easy use of quantifying effort.

Not only did the platform leave me more than mildly frustrated, the core function of the device did not give even slightly accurate information.

Power cleans often added 4-5 times the number of reps completed, i.e. doing triples turned into 15+.

The magnet on the device also popped off of the barbell when dropped from shoulder height using low temp bumper plates.

PUSH band with all of its drawbacks, was still substantially better from a reliability perspective.

Customer service is a bunch of lip service as they did not implement any changes suggested in their Beta testing presale Discord group.

Also frustrating with how often the sensor disconnects and subsequent app reloading with then prematurely completing a workout without the ability to pick up where you leave off.

No visibility on their development map either so canโ€™t say they will improve the functionality of the app or sensor.

MAY consider revisiting Calibrex maybe on version 5 of the sensor - currently way too immature of a tech line to waste $250-300.
