Yippee! ‎ ‎ Survive using FLESH, BRAIN, and GUTS. Use these three resources to overcome your Monstrous, impulsive tendencies. Spend them wisely, though, as they only replenish when you rest or feast. ‎ ‎ Make Choices! The towering, 300-toothed Grattrag scours the ravine below for your friends. * Do you fight or hide? * Join a gang or form your own? * Eat your friend's arm? (Context: it looks very tasty, and you're famished.) * Shun the scary loser to look cool... or comfort them and become a "loser" yourself? * Let Gorry know that a rocket sled would not, in fact, be possible to create? (He'll be heartbroken!) Visit the Fantastic Land of Monsters! Built beneath ancient Human ruins, Asch is your home city, where you'll scavenge and hide among the alleys to survive. • Best story game I’ve ever played

I played the original game ten years ago back when I was eight, and it wasn’t until I was in the car with my friend earlier today that I remembered it. I had liked the original game so much that I bought it on steam, too, where it’s still there— just unplayable due to the platform. But I wanted to show my friend what I was talking about, so I went to pull it up on the App Store. Just to be surprised at a sequel release of LAST YEAR. I immediately bought it. I loved the OG game and it made such an impact on me, I was so intrigued on what a sequel would look like. I sat down and played through the entire game with one break to drive home from my friend’s house. I’m writing this review at four in the morning because I am FLOORED at this game’s phenomenal and witty writing. It does a surprising job at getting you genuinely attached to the characters portrayed throughout (Wruck… 🥹🥹🥹), but it builds on that to effectively send a point of whatever the current chapter arc is— I’ve never been so affected by actual, good, genuine storytelling to this extent before, because during some of the arcs my jaw was DROPPED and I had a genuine gut wrenching reaction to what the MC/player was going through. I can’t emphasize how GOOD the writing in this game is. With the way it’s formatted, it’s easily digestible and still keeps you thoroughly engaged, hooked onto each individual storyline. During some of the fights I got so palpably nervous because of the plot relevance around them. And the character design of the cast is so effective. The art is cute and enhances the gameplay, because it’s one where you can tell they put so much thought into making it. ALL of the characters in this game were memorable because of how they were composed. The way they spoke, the dynamics between other characters (and the MC), their sprites. So much was put into them and it really shines through while you’re playing. I never pay for mobile games, but this is one that I’d be more than happy to buy again. Genuinely recommend for anyone who is looking for a good story with phenomenal world building and love put into it. I did cry at the end 😞😞 it’s such an effectively put game. 10/10!!
Again cannot emphasize enough how great this story telling was. It really really gets you.
