App indicated bridge was open and available when in fact it was up and a a ship was passing through.

Hi there! Unfortunately, the Great Lakes Seaway Website which I take the data from for the app (as stated in the description of the app) saw some downtime the other day. This resulted in the statuses of the bridges being incorrect. This is not a problem on my end, and there is nothing I can do about it as I do not work for the Seaway. Since the Seaway website can be finicky sometimes, I would suggest making sure that you have the most up-to-date data. You can do this by checking the time shown at the bottom of the app. This timestamp shows when the data on my server was fetched at. If the time shown there does not match the time you are checking the app at, I would suggest checking the map implemented in the app. It should show whether there is a boat approaching your bridge of choice.

Canal bridge app was working fine, now the app won’t open. Starts for a split second then closes. Why? I needed it today.
Update today April 5th. App is working fine now, I really like it.

Hi there! Sorry to hear the troubles that this has caused you. There was an issue on my end where a part of the app assumed the Seaway website was always up and reachable, but over the past few days their website has had quite a bit of downtime it seems. I am submitting an update as I am writing this to fix the issue. This will mean that although some bridges might not show up when one of the Seaway pages is down, the app shouldn't immediately crash. Thank you for your continued support in using the app! Hopefully the coming update fixes this issue for you. Please let me know if you have any more issues!
  • Great App

Love this app. Would love for the “time till raising” would be listed as sometimes it says raising soon for over 10 minutes.

Hi there, thanks for your review! Unfortunately I am unable to get this data for the St. Catharines bridges. It is not possible with the data the Seaway currently provides. It is available for the Port Colborne bridges, but not for St. Catharines. I've added a map so you can check it and make your own assumptions when the status is "Raising Soon," but I understand that this isn't the ideal solution. I will update the app should the Seaway start providing this data to users!
  • Raising soon

It would be great if you added how long until the bridge is raised instead of “raising soon”. 😁

Hi there, thanks for your review! As much as I would love to make this a feature for the St. Catharines bridges, it is not currently possible with the data the Seaway provides. It is available for the Port Colborne bridges, but not St. Catharines unfortunately. I've attempted to work around this by adding a map so you can make your own judgements when it says "Raising Soon" but understand that this isn't an ideal solution. I will keep check of the website and will update the app should they provide this data!
  • Garbage

I bought this app yesterday it worked once and since then the status is is unavailable. Don’t waste your money. It’s the second day now and still the status is unavailable

Hi there. For context, I get my data from the official Seaway website. This is explicitly stated in the app description. I do not create the data, I simply take existing data and put it in a nicer, easier to use format. Unfortunately, the Seaway website was down for an extended period of time. I was aware of this issue, and unfortunately there was nothing I could do about it as the problem wasn't with my app or my backend server. Outages like this don't happen regularly though, and I am hoping another one as bad as this doesn't happen again for a while. I encourage any users who regularly use the app to go to Settings, and tap the "Official Seaway Website" button when any issues arise and reach out to me if there are any issues that aren't present on the website. There are ways to contact me provided in the app. As of writing this response, the website has been back up for about two days and the app is once again receiving data. However, if you would still like to get your money back, you may request a refund through Apple.

I am sitting in a long line of traffic at the Glendale Ave canal bridge.
Your app shows the bridge is available

Hi there! Sorry to hear that the app didn’t work out and caused an issue for you. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that the website I take the data from isn’t always provide the correct information. It’s accurate most of the time, but occasionally it doesn’t update. It has been doing this more often than not lately. This also means that, when this happens, my app will provide you the same incorrect information, and unfortunately I cannot do anything about that. I am hoping the issue resolves itself naturally but I may reach out to the website maintainers to see if there is an issue if it doesn’t. Hope this helps you. Sorry again for the inconvenience. Please feel free to reach out to me via the email provided in the app if you have any more concerns.

Love this guy. I had a similar problem to some users with the bridge names. I emailed the developer and he responded immediately. That was two days ago and the updates have already been made. Very simple and clear.
  • Great concept!

I am really excited to see that there is finally an app for iPhone users that will tell us when the bridges are up in the Niagara area. It’s fantastic that a local teenager developed it! I will be using it daily.
  • Beautiful

This solves a real problem for us. Great job and well done on the initiative.
  • Handy App

Very nice app. Clean. Easy to set up and read. Shows bridges in all conditions including going up soon, a really important feature.
