Brilliant!

Simple, effective, and well worth the price!

Great app, issues after update

App has worked great for some time, lately I can’t get the widgets to change bridges, it just stays on “lakeshore” no matter what the order I choose. My favourite is set to Allanburg.

Missing information

The app is missing information, like when the bridges will open next and on the map there are no distinguishing mark for the bridges to give some information to know where the ships are in relationship.
This is not as good as the original app I used to use for the Welland canal bridge status.

Still Issues After Update.

Thanks for updating the Lock Screen feature in this app. However there is still an issue with the widgets. On the two smaller sized widgets there is no way to select a bridge. You can only select the bridge on the largest size widget.

Just wanted to let you know this issue is fixed if you update the app! Thanks again for your patience. Hi there! Really sorry about that, I had the updated lock screen widgets, but I did not add them to the app by accident. I've got an update on the way that fixes this and it should be released within the next day or so. Please check back in about a day or so, and the update should be out! Thank you for your patience!

5 stars

Great app; having the widget on my home screen with the local bridge is super convenient.

Loved this app until recent update

This app has been my lifeline for travelling as I cross the canal daily, but since the most recent update, I am unable to reinstall the widget for my Lock Screen and no longer see the subtitles that display how long a bridge has been raised for. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and no change. Hoping this will be fixed soon!

Just wanted to update you and let you know these issues are fixed and the update is out! Thank you for your patience. Hi there! So sorry about that, I had this ready but I forgot to fully add it to the app. I've got an update on the way that fixes this and it should be released within the next day or so. As for the issue for the subtitles showing for the bridges, if you go into the Settings section of the app, and tap on the "Card Visuals Shown" dropdown, you can choose "Both" to get both the icon and the subtitle displayed. Hope this helps!

Bridge lift duration

Hi there, since the update the duration of bridges being up has been removed. It’s a really good indicator of a double boat passing when you see the duration climb above 15 minutes.

When driving, I don’t go to the MAP view as it’s too distracting.

Can you please reimplement the durations for raised bridges? It was an amazing feature.

Just wanted to let you know the issue is fixed and the update is out! Thank you for your patience. Hi there! Sorry about that. This was something that appeared to work when I was performing some updates, but it didn't appear to transfer over. I've got an update on the way that will fix this automatically, but for now, if you go into the Settings section of the app, and tap on the "Card Visuals Shown" dropdown, you can choose "Both" to get both the icon and the subtitle displayed. Hope this helps!

Not always accurate

App indicated bridge was open and available when in fact it was up and a a ship was passing through.

Hi there! Unfortunately, the Great Lakes Seaway Website which I take the data from for the app (as stated in the description of the app) saw some downtime the other day. This resulted in the statuses of the bridges being incorrect. This is not a problem on my end, and there is nothing I can do about it as I do not work for the Seaway. Since the Seaway website can be finicky sometimes, I would suggest making sure that you have the most up-to-date data. You can do this by checking the time shown at the bottom of the app. This timestamp shows when the data on my server was fetched at. If the time shown there does not match the time you are checking the app at, I would suggest checking the map implemented in the app. It should show whether there is a boat approaching your bridge of choice.

Canal bridge app was working fine, now the app won’t open. Starts for a split second then closes. Why? I needed it today.
Update today April 5th. App is working fine now, I really like it.

Hi there! Sorry to hear the troubles that this has caused you. There was an issue on my end where a part of the app assumed the Seaway website was always up and reachable, but over the past few days their website has had quite a bit of downtime it seems. I am submitting an update as I am writing this to fix the issue. This will mean that although some bridges might not show up when one of the Seaway pages is down, the app shouldn't immediately crash. Thank you for your continued support in using the app! Hopefully the coming update fixes this issue for you. Please let me know if you have any more issues!

Great App

Love this app. Would love for the “time till raising” would be listed as sometimes it says raising soon for over 10 minutes.

Response from developer

Hi there, thanks for your review! Unfortunately I am unable to get this data for the St. Catharines bridges. It is not possible with the data the Seaway currently provides. It is available for the Port Colborne bridges, but not for St. Catharines. I've added a map so you can check it and make your own assumptions when the status is "Raising Soon," but I understand that this isn't the ideal solution. I will update the app should the Seaway start providing this data to users!
