  • Too much extra content not advertised.

If this game just had the gameplay it advertised, it would be great. All people want is a fun, addictive, temple run style gun run that you can play occasionally to kill time.

Instead there’s tonnes of extra city building and character development garbage that ISN’T in the adverts. Its all very low quality and uninterested and a barrier to the actual gun run style gameplay people want.

If they focused all their efforts on having 5 or 6 long/high quality survival gun runs. The sort where you have to survive as long as possible. Sticking to the same style and quality they advertise. This game would be fantastic.

Instead there’s too much extra baggage with the game you have to navigate and endure to get the the fun stuff. No one is interested in these things.

Adverts are very misleading. Just do what you advertise and this game would take off. Seems like the whole thing is a scam.

  • Paying money is the only skill you’ll need for the game

Played for around 60 days. I was tricked by the ads. The game starts off front heavy with those running math problems, but then slowly you’re introduced to what the real game is. It becomes an idle game. I will praise the game for 0 ads. It becomes a series of micro transactions. I played for free, I became strangely addicted and liked the challenge of paying no money. I soon realized I wasn’t playing a game. I was just clicking on buttons with no strategy or skill.

I joined an alliance of about 80 people. You can compete against other alliances every week. For a small example you can complete a task every 4 hours for points towards the competition. Alternatively you can spend 3 bucks here and there to complete tasks more frequently to boost your points in the competition.
People are spending thousands of dollars every week to chill at the top of the leaderboards.

I’m usually on the mindset of people can do whatever they want with their money. If you’re that rich that’s awesome, but at the same time there’s seriously more fulfilling things to do with your time and money.

If you came here because of the cool ads, you’ll have more fun playing sodoku. If you like idle games and have a strange spending addiction then this game is up your alley.

  • Fake ad game

I wrote this review cause their ad was “absolutely not a fake ad game” but it’s 100% a fake ad game. Super disappointing. I’d give it 2, maybe 3 stars but the rating is too high.
  • Not what I’m ad, just like Evony…

Games good people are great I guess depending on ur server #, but you can choose to pay but if ur somewhat the least little bit patient not completely necessary until you get in the larger HQ size n ur strong holds different areas that all have to be raised but if you play a decent amount it’s pretty easy to do w:o to much investment or if you so choose any if your willing to play off the basic amenities given as you grow… but its worth it to anyone looking for a game your willing to invest a lot of time to… but you do not have to pay to play long enough t find out so give it a go…. • Village game

The first 3-4 levels is the game that is advertised. Then you’re forced to play Age Of Empires which is so lame! Why can’t these idiot creators make a game that is exactly what is being advertised! Unbelievable
  • Freemium game with simplistic gameplay

The game pitches itself as having some sort of interactive gameplay on a runner screen. But this is eye candy for ads and a minimal part of the game after a couple of weeks of play.

After those first weeks, you build a base and grow character cards of increasing levels.

However, there are no rules about attacking other players based on your level, so what ends up happening is that weaker / beginner players are preyed upon by stronger players.

There is little to no strategy to it - you have stronger player cards and use them over and over again with no special skills like you might expect from an mmorpg type game.

And since the way to get stronger is highly related to using real money to buy bonuses for your base and team, that means this is a game all about

    Spending your Real Money

Okay fine. You probably knew that. But add in some bugs that cause your base and player to be depleted means that the game is set up to cost you extra real money outside of its rules.

Expect to spend as much on this game as you would on cable TV — but this is not as entertaining.

And the dev responses are slow to non existent.

  • It’s not a battle game like the ads, it’s a base building game.

I gave this a few days trial. The cool battles like the ads and previews are a small part of the game, it’s actually a base building game. And that means a pay-to-win nightmare. Open the game? “Buy this character” Want to actually play? You need a higher level base, which means waiting or, you guessed it, paying. Notifications on the Home Screen of the game? Some of them are legit, about half of them are just prompts for micro transactions.

At your home base screen, there are various buildings you unlock as your hq levels up. Those buildings then have little icons over them that call you to action. Getting materials, healing characters, building more soldiers - sure. But half of those are just “buy this character” or “buy this pass” or the like. And no, those call to action notifications don’t ever go away.

Same with the top of the gui. You learn to essentially ignore everything except for a couple of icons even though it says that there are alerts, they’re nothing but micro transaction screens. That still say you have an alert/notification no matter what.

The gameplay when it’s as shown in the ads is fun, and I’d love if this game was mostly that. But that wouldn’t be as much of a micro transaction nightmare so I understand why the developers don’t do that.

  • Good game until a fraudulent charge was made

I have been playing and enjoying this game, until I was incorrectly charged while I did not make purchase nor receive anything. I tried to contact customer service via the game and received absolutely no help (only one bot response). DO NOT play this game as there is ZERO customer help even for an error by the game!!!

I have been playing this game for weeks. Few days ago I noticed that a $20 purchase was charged to my Apple account but I am certain that I did not make this purchase. I checked that in the game I also did not receive anything. I reported this to Apple and received refund. Since then the game blocked me from playing it with a pop up that says my credit is -20, with two buttons: (1) pay $20 (2) Contact us. The contact us button brings me to a “Customer Service” messaging interface. I explained the situation but received just one bot response that I need to pay the $20 in order to play, that they will try their best to help but cannot be responsible for operational error. There is no other response nor what the next step is for me to resolve this issue with them and resume the game (without paying $20 I did not spent).

  • Attention

My experience with Last War has been disappointing, to say the least. Despite investing considerable time and money into the game, I've encountered unresolved issues and unfair practices.

During critical events like the recent Kill Buster day, serious lag resulted in significant troop losses. Despite reaching out to support multiple times over the past week, I haven't received a single response. This lack of support is unacceptable.

Furthermore, I've noticed that transactions on the platform are charged in pounds sterling, even though I'm not in the UK. This has led to extra costs due to currency conversion rates, which I believe warrants compensation.

As a loyal player who has invested heavily in the game, I expect better treatment. I kindly request compensation for the extra charges incurred and urge Last War's developers to improve their support system.

Is there an email address I can contact for a swift response and resolution? Please provide it as soon as possible.

  • Pay to win

Charged me $6.99 for something I never bought or agreed to purchase, then locked me out of the game after I requested a refund through the Apple Store. They said I can have my account back after I pay the refund amount which is completely fraud. I have made some purchases and received the benefits without issues.
