  • False advertising

The ads for the app show the user speaking with an AI person emulating a face to face conversation. I bought a subscription for a month thinking I would be able to do that but I was only able to use the chat option, there was no option for a face to face conversation. I used the chat option for about a week or two then canceled my subscription.
  • Nice alternative to duolingo for Japanese speaking practice

I like this app because it gives you speaking practice for Japanese, which duolingo doesn’t. however it’s very buggy and I can’t complete scenarios because of a constant “connection error”. I’ve restarted my phone, reset my network, switched networks and it’s still the same problem. I lose progress and it’s very discouraging to continue because of how buggy it is.
  • Great learning app

Very impressed with the new update. The AI practice organizes lessons to review your errors and allows you to practice. This is similar to having a real life tutor. Excellent work.
  • Excellent compliment to Duolingo

I’ve been using Duolingo for almost 2 years and like it a lot; however, it’s not a great tool at all to practice conversation. Enter AI-based conversation tools like Langotalk. Langotalk has filled the gap between Duolingo and human conversation.

With Langotalk I get to exercise those brain cells that trigger during conversation in a way they never did with Duolingo but do during live conversation. Langotalk is not a replacement for real human conversation, but it’s excellent practice for those situations.

The developer is often updating the app with little improvements and surprises. I hope this continues. The app has bugs here and there, but he fixes them over time. Keep up with the improvements!
  • AI-enhancement excellent

Great addition to Duolingo—it has much more versatility than Duolingo MAX (the Duolingo AI option). And it creates flashcards and phrases based on roleplays.
  • Yes!

It’s not always perfect, but its by far the best AI tool I’ve tried to learn Spanish. I’m really impressed. It’s solid.
  • Unlocking fluency

Langotalk is a game-changer for language learners seeking real-world practice and critical feedback. Its standout feature is its ability to facilitate communication in a foreign language while providing invaluable critique from native speakers.

One of Langotalk's most commendable aspects is its emphasis on practical conversation. Instead of relying solely on textbooks or scripted dialogues, users engage in authentic exchanges, mimicking real-life scenarios. This immersion fosters fluency by honing listening, speaking, and comprehension skills in a dynamic environment.

The feedback loop is where Langotalk truly shines. Users receive constructive criticism from native speakers, offering nuanced insights that textbooks often lack. This personalized guidance not only corrects errors but also enhances cultural understanding and natural expression, crucial components of language acquisition.

Furthermore, Langotalk's platform is user-friendly and accessible, making it suitable for learners of all levels. Whether you're a beginner seeking basic interactions or an advanced learner aiming for fluency refinement, Langotalk accommodates diverse learning needs.

In essence, Langotalk is a game-changer for language learners. By providing a platform for authentic conversation and invaluable feedback, it unlocks the path to fluency in a foreign language.
  • A lot of back and forth

I’ve had Langotalk for about a year now, and when it started out it was on an internet browser only. Having the app makes a great difference however it needs some changes. Copying and pasting for a translation is very tedious if you’re just starting out learning a new language. I also wish that if you click on a single word for its meaning it would translate immediately and not use the internet, as pushing that much data slows the usability down and makes it that much more tedious.

Maybe off-line translations? :) This app is also a great pair with Rosetta Stone.
  • Gonna save me money

Honestly, this app is pretty futuristic in the sense that I can talk directly and it feels like I’m having an actual conversation with someone. It definitely misses the human aspect of it, but for filling in when I’m not able to talk to people in Italian it is amazing!
  • Great for learning

I find this app very helpful when practising my Spanish. I particularly like that I can turn off the text when I’m in on conversations so that I can practice my listening comprehension. I wish, though, I could still be provided feedback when I have this turned off.

    Developer Response

Thank you so much! We're glad you like the new features :)
