What's New in Anytype
0.34.0
December 18, 2024
We couldn’t end the year without a final update! In this release, you'll find several improvements and fixes, along with one much-anticipated feature.
Highlights
**Date as an Object**
Introducing a new Date object type with a dedicated layout that displays objects associated with the selected date. This includes support for open date interaction, @mentioning dates and creating linked blocks with the /date command.
**File layout updates**
Files now have a new design with updated icons, an [Open] button for quick access and specific system file relations for detailed information.
**Quality-of-Life**
- When copying and pasting HTML or bookmark links, any attached files such as icons, images or other web markup are now filtered out and only displayed in an Object layout and in the "Manage files" menu.
- Deep links to objects now include an invite to the shared space when using the "Copy Link" option, streamlining collaboration and access.
- A long tap on the back button takes you directly to widgets.
- Split View and Slide Over are now supported on iPadOS. Thanks, @johnxnguyen!
- Some more speed optimization has been done to improve per-space performance.
**Bug Fixes**
- Fixed an issue where the keyboard would not dismiss when scrolling through the object emoji picker. Thanks, @johnxnguyen!
- Fixed an issue where moving multiple blocks to another object did not preserve their original order. Thanks, @johnxnguyen!
A constantly improving work in progress that I am keeping a regular eye on. The setup is best done on desktop and requires thinking to best tune for each users preferences but I do feel anytype has a great future. The security model blows most others out of the water and is something in current world that should be given more consideration. Very quick and responsive. Clean UI generally although sometimes doesn’t feel as nice as it could be. Currently lacking graph view on mobile :(. but seems very stable. I’d say def. give it a go, but be aware there is a learning curve. Looking forward to continuing progress
