Looking good

A constantly improving work in progress that I am keeping a regular eye on. The setup is best done on desktop and requires thinking to best tune for each users preferences but I do feel anytype has a great future.
The security model blows most others out of the water and is something in current world that should be given more consideration. Very quick and responsive. Clean UI generally although sometimes doesn’t feel as nice as it could be. Currently lacking graph view on mobile :(. but seems very stable.
I’d say def. give it a go, but be aware there is a learning curve.
Looking forward to continuing progress

Indentation

I cannot adjust the indentation of list items. There are 8 million beautiful buttons for highly specific functions that I will never use on desktop, let alone on my phone, and I cannot adjust the indentation of list items. I get one level of indentation and that’s it. If I copy-paste a bulleted list it gets collapsed into one level. Amazing

Noice 🤓

I love this so far. It’s been a little confusing but I’ve been learning over time. I’m using this instead of Notion right now since I can attach any media file of ANY SIZE without paying anything (cough cough) and I love how customizable it is, reminds me of Obsidian. Keep it uppppp!!!!!

Some features:

Considering that this is a pretty privacy focused app ; it’d be nice to be able to lock the app via a passcode or your biometrics. That’s my only complaint, would love to see it added. Thanks.

Frustrating interface, clunky to use, nice concept

It is difficult to use when writing notes you cannot easily select all the text you write if there are new lines they want you to individually click on each block of text! No way to easily export from your individual notes on mobile. Graph view is buggy. It takes multiple clicks to add something as simple as a tag to a note. The concept of sets doesn’t seem to easily allow selecting multiple different object types with a similar relation.

Overall, too much extra annoyance for what should have been a simple user interface. Disappointing because local first is a great idea.

Poor iPad App

In the absence of having access to my own data through some web version of the app, the only remaining option on my iPad is to use the “iPad” app. While iPad support is present, it is in name only. It is essentially an iPhone app that does not take any advantage of the larger display, and it makes everything feel very awkward to use. Also, there doesn’t seem to be feature parity with the desktop app.

Let us hide inline collection titles

I love Anytype, much more than Notion. However, this small issue is quite annoying. I know many have been asking to be able to hide inline collection / sets titles, I was hoping that with the new iOS & macOS update we would finally get it, is such a simple thing to do, yet instead we got a new spaces sidebar.
Another thing I find annoying is that I can’t choose which space I want the app to open to, it defaults to my entry space, which is not my main space. I don’t have this issue on Mac, the app will open to which ever space I was using the last time before I quit the app. Again, I still love the app, and really appreciate that is free :)

I need widgets and calendar notice

Awesome app, I have been used for a month now, can't live without Anytype, it's my second brain, helps me to organize my life and goals.

I really need widgets and calendar notice, please consider these two suggestions!!!!

Private, my forever

I think of writing as a superpower. From diary to powerful strategic documents, anytype is the best writing tool for me. Especially because I know everything is encrypted, stored on my device and no cloud company can decide if i have access to the years of my writings

My Brain’s New BFF

Anytype has quickly become my favorite app for organizing everything. It’s local-first, which means all my data stays on my device, making it super fast and private. But it still backs up to the cloud, so I get the best of both worlds. Honestly, I don’t understand why more apps don’t take this approach.

The Mac and iOS versions are so well-designed and optimized for each device that it feels like an Apple product at heart. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll appreciate how powerful and versatile it is. (I hope they add support for Apple Intelligence this fall!)

If you’re looking for a fast, private, and seamlessly integrated tool that feels like it was built with Apple’s attention to detail, give Anytype a try. You won’t regret it!
