Version 1.1 Is Here! A bunch of new features including 1. The ability to leave feedback from within the app, either via the app store review process or by e-mailing us directly. 2. The ability to report responses that you dislike, and have Ernest re-write them - simply press and hold the message, click "report" and Ernest will rewrite the message. 3. Numerous changes to the models tone, including instances where it would produce responses that could be deemed as unserious. We've got a whole bunch of exciting changes planned over the next few months. Version 1.0 Of Ernest Is Finally Here!!! Thanks so much to everyone who has taken part in the public beta for Ernest. We're now super proud to announce Version 1.0 of the full product. Here's what's new: - Full Personalisation: You can now tell Ernest your name, issues you're facing and key facts about yourself and your chat preferences that he will never forget. This allows you to create a truly personalized therapy experience. Don't want Ernest to use Emojis? You can tell him to refrain from Emoji usage in settings. Don't like certain phrases he uses? Let him know. Want him to only speak in French? He can do that too. Build your own custom therapist tailored to your needs. - New Language Model: We've updated the language model behind Ernest. Based on the feedback provided to us, Ernest now offers even more deeply personal conversations, and combined with onboarding personalization, is now more robust in how it deals with user messages, pulling information dynamically from further in the thread back into current conversation. - Deeper Memory: Ernest's memory has increased, and he's able to recall further back into existing conversations. - Subscription: Access to Ernest now requires a subscription of $14.99 USD a month (or your local equivalent). We've added a 30-day free trial to this, so you can truly gauge whether or not Ernest is the right assistant for you. With the average therapist costing $150/hr, we're really proud to offer high-quality, personalised care at 1/10th of the price, and we're confident that no one else in the market is offering the level of deep personalisation that we do. More Bug Fixes! - Fixed lag issue where Ernest would scan the entire conversation history before outputting response. This should drastically reduce load times. - Fixed issue where users were unable to scroll past their most recent messages. Some Serious Bug Fixes! - Corrected the issue where Ernest would cut his response mid-output. - Corrected the issue where app would scroll to the top of the conversation upon fresh install/update. - Model improvements, conversations should flow more naturally between topics. - Long term memory, Ernest remembers more of its prior conversations with the user and can dynamically insert it into the conversation where relevant.

Quality of Life: In 0.8, we've introduced a new animation that helps improve the readability of Ernest's outputs. 0.7 We've made a few improvements after our big 0.6 update! - Improved the model to reduce over-indexing on certain phrases (the previous model would end most messages with "Can, I ask?" which tended to get repetitive quickly) - Model can now understand emoji inputs (beta) - Fixed a bug where some system messages would cut out halfway. We've updated the language model behind Ernest from top to bottom! - Messages between the user and Ernest will now be more conversational, with Ernest trained to speak in a more colloquial tone. - Ernest will now directly refer to the cognitive biases the user may be experiencing, and provide suggestions as to how to alter them. - Ernest will be less apprehensive about giving advice around sensitive topics, while still recommending medical interventions for serious issues. - Ernest will provide slightly longer responses than previous versions.

The Ernest team has been busy, but we're not quite ready to add all the new features we've been working on into the app just yet! In version 0.5, we've added Firebase Analytics to give us insights into how often our users are using Ernest. As always, your message data (what you actually type on the app) remains unreadable by us and our machine learning partners and is stored locally on your device.

Tons of New Updates in Version 0.2! - Ernest is now less likely to be sidetracked, and will instead push back more frequently on attempts to derail therapy sessions when asked general questions about the world. - Therapy sessions are now more structured. - Launch screen updated to include App Icon. - Fixed bug where toolbar would become invisible for some users. - Fixed issue where users on versions of iOS 16 below 16.4 could not download the app.
