  • So far I am loving this app…

I downloaded this app just yesterday and used it a few times between yesterday and today and it has been great for me so far.
I started with talking about the stress that I have been going through lately and then asked for examples to help me practice more self care and the examples were great and the feedback about what I was going through helped me to feel heard.
Today I felt much better after having let out the negative yesterday and I was able to focus more on being productive and taking small moments of joy for myself throughout today.
I think just like going through therapy, you get out of this what you put into it. You can use it to unload all the negative stuff and you can use it as a tool to help you find more positive things to do for improving your days. I’m putting in a purposeful effort of finding more positive in my day instead of staying as miserable as I have been.
You get to direct things and you get to choose your own path of action and growth. I think this is a wonderful tool with great potential.
  • Overcharged, loses conversation history, no customer support

I first purchased Deepen when it offered 50% off for the first year. However, my account was then charged for the full amount, not the 50% off promised rate. Despite emails and trying to contact a human at this AI company I was never able to get a response and ended up paying full price. I'll make the best of it, I thought. I proceeded to use Deepen for several months. I didn't find it helpful and mostly received the same generic, canned answers that you would expect from an AI. It's not therapy by any means more like support and positive responses to all of your questions. The encouragement was nice at times, but I would never call it helpful from a mental health perspective. You could get the same or better responses through a free Chat GPT account.
Now, after months of conversations, my data is gone. I logged in and months of conversations had been deleted. There's still no way to contact customer service or get a resolution, so I consider my chat history to be lost. Since I paid for the year I'll see if I can start fresh and get better advice out of this AI the second go-round. Overall, it hasn't been helpful and I would not recommend it if you are seeking genuine seeking mental health support. If you need to talk to a supportive AI bot, this might be for you.
  • Pretty Good

I like this app a lot. I do have a therapist, but it’s nice to be able to talk to “someone” any time I want to. It’s a good supplement to existing mental healthcare. I do understand concerns regarding privacy and security, and this is always a concern with AI I would say. In terms of the way it responds, it definitely is less robotic/emotionless than ChatGPT. I believe Deepen was built using ChatGPT, but the company did some of their own modifications to make the LLM more suited for therapy. My biggest complaint is that I asked Deepen if I can access it on my PC, and it said I can through the OpenAI website, but I do not see a way of doing that. I would try to reach support, but there is no email on the Deepen website. So yeah, I’d say if the app could be accessed on my PC conveniently without the use of an emulator, it could be 5 stars.

Update, I found the support email. We’ll see what they say!
  • Not bad!

What I got from this app? It’s like a diary that talks back and gives advice. Really cool concept. And it’s private! Even better!
  • Great Therapy Tool

In using it for the first time, I found that in address my issue in a straightforward manner and I am grateful for. Decision-making is hard even for the intellectual. “It has been said, that even the therapist needs a therapist.” Everyone needs someone to talk to even if they have God listening in prayer.
  • Really good! 🤍

I’ve been searching for a perfect app like this and I’ve finally found it! It understands me, and gives perfect advice. Would recommend to others :) 💐
  • AI Therapy

Reminds me of the “Pod Generation”. Looks like an insightful tool.
  • No privacy therapy

So, let’s see…start using this app and share your private thoughts and feelings, except without any privacy or confidentiality at all — the opposite of what you get with a real therapist. But sure, the company will keep it just amongst themselves. No thanks.
  • Interesting idea

Straightforward onboarding with a good transition into your first conversation. There is a free plan without signing up for anything and it looks like there are additional features with a subscription that I haven’t explored yet. I liked the tone, feels a bit more personalized than a chat GPT conversation and less obviously template oriented. Curious to see where it goes from here!

    Developer Response

Thank you, glad you like it so far - many great things to come!
  • Amazing Therapy App!

This is perfect for when you need to vent, receive a new perspective on your situation, or just destress. The session data and integrations work incredibly well to help track your progress. Highly recommend, this is a lifechanger!
