Estonian Translations
I’ve been using the app for a couple of days now, and while I find it really fun and useful, I’ve already noticed some of the translations and photos are off for Estonian.
I can’t speak for the accuracy of other languages, but a good example of this is when teaching the word apelsin in Estonian, meaning orange as in the fruit, they’re teaching it is as if it meant the colour orange, with the provided photo as a man in an orange suit with no fruit to be seen.
This isn’t the only mistake I’ve seen on this app so far, and it can be really misleading if a beginner uses this without having any prior knowledge to know the differences. I’d only recommend this app if you have a basic grasp of tour target language already.

Nice app but needs improvement
The app overall is good for boosting your vocabulary. It would be even better if you separate the words into learned/repeat/and new words.
It is easier to repeat and learn new words if they are in smaller chunks and learned words are separated. Now you need to swipe over 100 cards to get to the new words🤷🏼♀️

Wow, I'm just surprised that this app has so few reviews - I love it. Here is some support!

Thank you for your amazing support! Your positive feedback means a lot to us.
Very useful!
Hi Karteto team! Just wanted to say thanks and bravo for making such a useful learning tool! Very user friendly, and so many great categories to choose from to learn a new language (I.e. society, travel, food and drink).

Hi! Thank you so much! We are not a big team now, so every review for us is very personal and makes us proud to be helpful! Best of luck with your language learning!
Better than Duolingo
I’ve been using Duolingo like many other language learners, and while it’s very engaging with all the competitions and gamification, I soon found that I wasn't actually learning anything. With Karteto I feel like my vocabulary is actually growing and I have a visible improvement in my learning results!

Thank you for the review! That's right and you are not the only one! Our founder, Alex, was also frustrated with the lack of actual learning progress in other apps and that's how the idea of Karteto was born!
This app really makes learning fun
I wholeheartedly recommend Karteto to anyone seeking a methodical and structured approach to learning a foreign language. They only focus on vocabulary, but do it really well and effectively. I love the design aesthetic and clear use case. I am using it to learn Italian and can feel how my word knowledge has expanded at a good pace. Great app!
