Could you add in a section to add new species by ourselves? The app is good to use but I cannot find the right species that I have in the tank.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for the review; it should be available in settings -> enable custom species tracking -> and then it should appear as an option from your aquariums main view! - if this doesnt cover your needs email us using the contact us section in the app, and we'd love to hear from you

Great for logging!

This is excellent for logging my aquarium parameters. 10/10!

Excellent fish keeping app

Dev is very responsive. This app offers insights for your aquarium, and is a very good tool to help track everything including parameters. They’re also working on an android app.

Thanks a lot for the review, glad to hear you enjoy it!

Nice little tracking app

New review: so it was recording my measurements but it wasn’t obvious that only one could be displayed at a time. I clicked on Ammonia and then saw a drop down to view other parameters. This would be more intuitive if it showed plots for all measurements that I’ve added data for at one time, it not a show stopper.

Old review: When I log pH and ammonia, it shows up in my test parameter list. Nitrate and nitrate can be logged but don’t show up.

Hi IrishNinjaSurfer, Very interesting; we can't seem to replicate this bug on our end. If possible could you contact us through the settings so we can ask some more questions to isolate and fix this bug ASAP. Thanks, Fishi

Bug in parameter tracking?

When I log pH and ammonia, it shows up in my test parameter list. Nitrate and nitrate can be logged but don’t show up.

Don’t waste your time

I went to choose a fish and discovered that they don’t have any salt water fish not even a tang or a clown fish

Response from developer

EDIT: 22/8/24 - Saltwater aquariums are now possible! We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with the lack of saltwater fish options - we are currently building the saltwater library, now that we've covered the freshwater side. Thanks for the review, your feedback is crucial for us to enhance the app.

Exceptional Service & Continuous Improvement

The great attention to constantly improving the app, the easy-to-use interface, the aesthetic appeal, and the speedy responses to my email request for adding in new plants is what motivated me to submit this review with 5 stars. Great work!

Great

This app provides a lot of useful information about hundreds of fish species, but seems to tell me I can’t keep 6 goldfish in my 45l aquarium, which my pet shop said was okay
UPDATE: 7 months later and this app is still updated weekly and has been so useful and high quality, keep it up

Response from developer

Hi there. First of all I commend you for learning about your hobby. When it comes to goldfish they absolutely do need more space as they grow very fast, and are atypically messy for a fish their size regardless. If I were you I would recommend either getting a larger tank or rehoming the goldfish. There are plenty of smaller fish and invertebrates that can be kept in a 45l tank for their whole lifespans without issue. If there are any other pieces of information in the app you find yourself disagreeing with, then by all means contact me directly at pledgeappofficial@gmail.com Kind Regards, Developer.

Wow

This is an absolutely amazing app! Tons of stuff to find out about before adding your fish/invert to your aquarium!

Too much locked behind a paywall.

I love the layout and concept of this app, but it borderline unusable if you don't pay for it. I am not against a payment system, a lot of work went into this app, but i don't like how it is set up. To me it would make more sense if many of the beginner or very common fish were free, while more specific or advanced fish for people who are really into the hobby are available with the paid version. Even a betta requires the payed version, while an oscar doesn't. The inability to sort out the non-free fish also makes quite hard to find any. I just wish it was possible to set up a beginner tank without paying. Most of the free options are cichlids. Also, pictures for the different plants would be useful. I really love the concept and convenience of this, but the current monetisation strategy makes the free version frustrating. Suggestions/requests: For the "Discover Fish" scrolling feature, is the a way there could be an option to always have the "basic info" showing, because at a glance that is more useful than the current information that is shown.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for your review! Fair points so to address them - We've added the ability to edit the discover feed in the latest update, so we have to thank you for the great suggestion. Plant pictures are coming soon. Regarding the monetisation strategy, there's no easy way to do it. The development/server costs etc are all very expensive for an app being updated every few days with new content & features - the only other option was to place adverts all over the app to cover costs(which we think everyone has enough of these days, so weren't willing to do). Instead we chose to offer as much value as cheaply as we could. We'll always remain committed to improving the feature set of both free/premium versions of Fishi. We hope some of that helps you. If you have any other questions/concerns/suggestions, there's a button you can use to email us in the settings screen to talk to us directly. Thanks, Fishi.
