Nothing like the PC Version
If you played the PC version, DO NOT expect to have the same experience. All sense of the RTS survival elements of the PC are gone. They “mobilized’ this game into something more akin to FarmVille. You manually harvest coal and wood (when you have the energy). There is timers on most of the buildings for building and gathering.

I waited years for this since it was announced. All I’ve wanted is a solid game like this ported to the iPad but they have completely ruined this title. AVOID THIS GAME!Show lessLok-tec

An Amazing Survival/City-Building Game
This is one of my favorite Survival/City Building games. You take on the blizzard and run a generator to keep your citizens warm and working, and have to collect and manage resources to survive the cold. It’s such a neat concept and I love it, definitely give this game a try, as well as the console/PC versions of you want a real challenge.Show lessxDeexerx

I’m loving this game so far and am a huge fan of the console edition, one thing I would say about it though is the roads should be able to be placed on connecting buildings like in the normal games. Like the roads shouldn’t take there own space to build. Otherwise great gamevanixed

Really tried to like this game and was willing to put up with some extra timers and usual mobile nerfing. However it’s just a slog through inscrutable systems and odd demands from the game. Your constantly pestered with “trade requests” that are absolutely at your disadvantage and the return for your time is not worth it. These in paired with the other demands to run your city are a nightmare of a UI issue, constant overlapping buttons that are opening a window that is not needed to be addressed. Overall these things next to a game with poor execution on informing the player of the strategy is pretty much unbearable unless your value of time spent it low.Show lessch4s3r
Deliberately unbalanced waiting simulator
The Frostpunk PC and console game this is based on is genuinely excellent, unfortunately like so many mainstream games ported to mobile, its mechanics have been gutted and replaced by increasingly lengthy waits that are structured to encourage micro-transactions.
And waiting is what you do. Tap to assign workers to get resources, then use those resources to upgrade and expand your chilly settlement, until you lack a couple of key currencies - in this case to expand your warehouse - and then it’s time to pay or hit a wall. But paying just gets you as far as the next wall, and when all the skill it requires is tapping and waiting, that’s not really all that rewarding.
Frostpunk was a cracking PC game, but this is a ditch water-dull cash-in with no discernible need for either skill or strategy. We can all wait, but paying for the privilege? You’d need to be clinically insane.Show lessMinimumSafeDistance
Amazing game v.poor audio support
Another brilliant game made unplayable by the fact there is no option to prioritise anything other than their audio.
Please. PLEASE. Allow audio priority selection to those of us who like to play idle style games. I don’t want to hear background music in game, I’d like to continue to listen to a podcast or my own music.
Sure this is an issue in iOS with their audio priority BUT the matter is devolved to the devs to set their audio priority. If I turn off music/sound effects then allow iOS to take back the audio priority for the user.

It was enjoyable initially and had a great and engaged story, however to earn shillings to outbalanced town management and became almost unattainable. Sadly I lost interest as it felt there was an imbalance in the game and it became laborious. Hopefully the developers will make it easier for players to earn shillings through tax or events so players don’t feel so stagnated.Show lessJamie Fiendish Mac
