Reviews of Medieval Life

  • Kinda like Crusader kings

Unlike standly, I’ll be a little harder on you. Let’s explain what has been done well and then where you can improve.

What’s done well: I’d say it does feel like a CK game where you do something and then an action has a random chance of others happening. It’s fun for a bit but it needs more for war and strategy. For a free game tho it’s not bad..

Improvement areas: so I’d say where this should be improved is approaching other countries. In the game you can only arrange marriage in your own domain. (Example if your a king, duchess or anything as a lord you choose someone that’s under you) I feel like if you should use arranged marriages as a strategy for alliances and better communications it would make this more fun.

More schemes.. I feel this should be elaborated in some way.

The war strategies, fighting and The map aswell I would say all need improvements in some way to make this feel more immersive.

The game UI could be improved over time. I don’t think it’s too bad considering it’s a free game.
Overall it’s not bad.. not to fond of paying for customization for characters when I can’t make connections with other countries instead of having to take them out.

Rating 5/10 room for improvement but not worth spending more than a day or two on in playing time.
  • Enjoying so far

Okay so this might be a little minuscule compared to what others ask to be improved. But I notice that almost all hair colors can be passed down… except white. I really want to create a kingdom (yes like GoT) with a family full of white hair ppl and I can’t do that bc the white hair just won’t be passed down. Also variation of skin colors ?

Oh also the piety, prestigious system. There’s gotta be more ways to obtain it , it seems like by the time I get to an end of a life I’ve saved enough piety (to laws) but I have to use it to continue on the next line, and I can only get so much gold a year without raising taxes (bc whoop that cost piety too). There a balance but it veers off from time to time bc of this. Other than that I do enjoy playing and reallllly want to see some additions.
  • Good game

    - Improve AI to make it more dynamic and reactive, not just passive until attacked.
    - Implement AI strategies that involve alliances, resource management, and proactive troop movements.

    2. **Expanded Map**:
    - Expand the game map to include all of Europe, which would provide more diversity in gameplay and strategic options.
    - Introduce different regions with unique resources and challenges to add depth.

    3. **User Interface Improvements**:
    - Add customizable keyboard shortcuts for the most common actions to streamline gameplay.
    - Redesign the interface to minimize the number of clicks needed to access critical functions.

    4. **Combat Mechanics**:
    - Introduce Men at Arms or similar units to add complexity to combat beyond the existing categories.
    - Include different unit types with unique abilities and strengths/weaknesses to diversify combat tactics.

    5. **Buildings and Resource Management**:
    - Allow players to construct buildings in provinces, each offering specific benefits such as increased income, better troop training, or resource production.
    - Introduce a food resource that requires management, affecting troop morale and population growth.

These improvements could significantly enhance the depth and enjoyment of the game, making it more engaging and satisfying for players.
