Terrible

I got it and it said anything from purple to green was the same color. If I shined a light to get difference, it wouldnโ€™t work.

Was detecting all the colors on screen

White saturation calibration

This app works well when directed to block colours, but I have failed to get it calibrated with the initial โ€˜whiteโ€™ surface to get it going correctly.
I tried pointing my phone camera at a sheet of white paper, a white wall both inside and also outside in natural light, but I still get the very same message on the screen that saturation is low and so accuracy will be low.
I found that disappointing.

Response from developer

Thanks for your review! Dominant wavelength is a mostly meaningful to measure for colored light. If you want to measure natural light or any white or whiteish light, to see its Kelvin temperature (i.e. if it is cold or warm white) please instead use the White Balance Kelvin Meter app. Also, feel free to contact me directly, apps@contechity.com Thanks a lot!

Tested a UV lamp

Tested it against a UV lamp and it detected it accurately.

Response from developer

Thanks a lot for taking your time to leave a 5-star review on my app! It is very much appreciated!

Lovely app!

Used in lab experiment to determine some LED wavelengths & then calculate h (Planck constant). App was checked and gave same data for known laser wavelengths so assume calibration was ok for others. Obviously the quality of camera & configuration of experiment will influence reliability of data. One star deducted only because the user interface is not very intuitive!
