Would be Higher

First of let me say, I’m impressed with the current landscape of mobile gaming. Being able to play resident evil on the iPhone is great. However, it comes with its caveats. Personally, the graphics are great and it’s the mobile controls are understandable but a separate controller is definitely needed to play well. To keep this review spoiler free I’ll speak vaguely. The game is very unstable after finishing a certain boss fight level and cut scene with the merchant. It manages to crash almost every and leaves you unable to progress. Even if you manage to get past that scene it’ll randomly crash shortly after. I double even tripled checked to see if it was a Graphical issue but to no avail . I even re did the missions to make sure it wasn’t a case of a bad save file But at last it did not work. I hope they would fix the crashing Quickly as I’m not the only one experiencing this . Considering you’ll just have a unfinished-able game after paying Them .

Visually stunning! Controller is basically a requirement

I was impressed by how the game allows for all the graphical options you would get on a pc. Runs well on my iPhone 15 Pro, and I can tell that it will run even better as machines get faster and faster.
The only thing is… you basically have to have a controller to player because the touch screen controls are terrible. I know this is a direct port, but they could have done a better job with making the controls more tailored for mobile.
That aside, the game is fantastic!

A good game but I prefer to play on other platforms

It runs pretty stable 60fps I would say. But if you want higher quality then it starts to get a bit sluggish, still very enjoyable though. I tried the demo on iPhone 15 pro max but ended up getting a steam version because I find this game really fun! If you like mobile experience, this iOS version is completely fine. The fact that it now runs modern AAA games is amazing! Really looking forward to RE4 and death stranding now!

Not great in iPhone, but sure is on iPad!

I think it could be much better on iPhone 15 Pro, but it’s a start, it can look better over the years.

However in an M1 iPad Air it’s good! I do think the M2 will be more of a sweet spot to make up for compromises you make on M1.

Once the cheaper base model iPhone and iPad can handle these AAA games, it should finally start to look appealing to a lot of people, not just core fans like myself that wanted to see how well it could do!

Amazing!

I cannot believe this game is running natively on a mobile device, after running my game for 30 minutes, 900p , medium settings, metal FX Quality, I had a stable and enjoyable gameplay! Looks amazing!!!!! I can’t wait for the future gaming on mobile. Assassins creed has my eye but this game ran beautiful for a mobile game. After 30 minutes my phone went to 46c , no overheating dimming or anything, and I dropped 12% battery. And I’m in a humid room that’s hot. Amazing.

Excellent version of an excellent game.

As someone who doesn’t own a PlayStation/Xbox I was happy to get the chance to play this on my iPhone 15 Pro.
I’ve played through the entire game and pleased to say it was a sublime experience. Runs well and looks fantastic. I’m sure the console version is the BEST way to play but for a mobile game it’s right up there.
Playing with a controller is essential (touch screen controls are dreadful). I used a Switch Pro controller and a USBC to HDMI cable to connect to my tv and it all worked perfectly with no input lag.
Only issue is it’s a massive drain on the phone battery so charges every 2 or 3 hours is necessary.
Very impressed overall. Can’t wait for Res4 now!

Console like experience

I’m running the iPad Pro M2 with 1TB storage and 16GB memory. The game runs at max settings 2732x2048p with MedalFX Upscaling on Quality, getting 40 to 45fps. It’s very much a console like experience, comparable to the PS5 and Xbox Series X. There is a free demo version available to play right away after finishing downloading the game. I highly recommend trying it.

Warning: Save data will randomly corrupt, including cloud saves

After playing for a good amount of progress, I booted up the game only to be greeted with an error: "Save data from a different Apple ID cannot be used. Application failed to launch." and the game froze there. Reopening the game resulted in the same error. That's weird, considering I've only ever used the same Apple ID on my device with the game.

No sweat, I've got cloud saves so I'm okay, right? Wrong. When I reinstalled the game and attempted to download my cloud save, it said the cloud save was corrupt and couldn't be used.

Well that's okay, I also saved my progress on my other device so I can just boot the game there and reupload the save data from there, right? Also wrong. For some reason, every device I own suddenly decided to nuke my save and block my cloud save. Hours of progress, all gone.

I'm not going to play this game any more until this is fixed, because who knows how many hours I'll waste before the game suddenly decides to destroy all of my save data again?
