Reviews of TRAIN HARD

  • Less value compared to NCFit App

Like many folks here, I had no idea there was going to be such a hard transition to a new app. I really enjoyed the old app and the instructional videos. I was traveling when this forced transition took place and it was a pain to sign up remotely. The new signup process is far from straightforward. There are no instructional videos with the new app, it hangs often, and is very buggy. This morning, it took almost thirty seconds to open the app. This was after force closing it multiple times. It needs some work. I also miss the library of exercises. If charging more, the app and signup process should be seamless.
  • Miss Some NCFIT Features

I’ve always liked Jason and I followed the NCFIT app programming off and on for a few years. The new program is missing a lot of the features that the old app/program had. Workout demos, daily training videos, a scaling guide, plus two versions of the daily workout (one Rx’d and one scaled). Daily workout also has accessory work/mobility built in. All those things are missing from the new program. Kind of a bummer. Still early though and maybe some of those things will be added in.
  • It’s great but I liked NCFit

Compared to NC Fit. It’s $10 more a month but seems to lack the “competition” track and no instruction videos for metcon portion. So it feels like less value. The EMOM track is cool but I’d rather have the competition one. It’s the same great programming though. But I can’t help but know I’m paying more money for the same programming. I like the body building track. I don’t really understand the whole concept of “TRAIN HARD men’s club”. IMO its kind of weird because it feels like it’s ostracizing women. I also care zero about what other people have to say in comments in SugarWod. Honestly this isn’t “my gym”. I personally go to my local CrossFit gym if I’m comparing stats and being social. This is more accessory training for me. Overall, it’s great, but I feel like there’s less value compared to NCFit. I also had zero idea that NCF was transitioning to this and I was paid until March 23. I feel like Train Hard owes ME $20 because I had a few more weeks I paid for…Anyways, keep up the good work overall. The programming overall is great and I guess with inflation price hike was inevitable.
Also, for what it’s worth. With current app features..you don’t actually need this app you can just get SugarWOD and switch to the “train hard” gym.
Personally for me, that’s nice because my gym uses SugarWOD and I don’t need 2 apps.
