  • Compared to Whoop…

So, I have Whoop and the metrics are way off. My sleep, strain, and recovery rings aren’t the same as whoop and make no sense. The even the cals burned are about 20 off even though my Apple Watch says 20 less and my Whoop has it 300 less. But, understand, Apple restarts their stats after midnight whereas Whoop restarts when you wake up for the day. So I’m unsure how Bevel does theirs but there metrics are off base even if they’re taking data from both Apple and Whoop. Weird. But, it’s a nice app and if they got that fixed, I’d use it again.

Hi, thank you for the feedback! The app needs at least 60 days of data before showing accurate metrics. If you're still having this issue, can you please email us at hello@bevel.health?
  • Tried many of them and love Bevel

I’ve used Athlytic, Gentler Streak and now Bevel and like Bevel’s UI the best. Athlytic has more data that I didn’t use, and Bevel is more complete than GS.

I do still use GS’s superior watch app for my workouts as the heart rate zones are clearly readable. Wish Bevel would improve the watch app.
  • Incredible app and exciting vision

I’ve tried practically every fitness gadget and app on the market e.g. Whoop, Oura, Fitbit…you name it. I have a high bar for fitness apps because I use them multiple times a day, and I don’t want to spend time navigating ugly, buggy and hard to use UI. This app not only delivers above and beyond anything I’ve tried, it does so with a meticulous attention to detail that really shows. There are still some kinks to iron out, but that’s hardly worth noting for an app out publicly for only a few months. I’m really excited by the direction and potential of this app! Keep up the great work.

Thank you for the kind words! We're glad that you are enjoying the app. We're working hard to improve the app even further :)
  • Better than Whoop!

I used whoop for over a year before switching to Bevel. This provides more useful data and is constantly being updated! I feel like accuracy is similar, but somehow the presentation of the data makes it feel more actionable. It’s more obvious how different activities impact my recovery or strain. Very cool! Love the battery feature and cardio load, and new Biology section!

We're thrilled you're finding Bevel more insightful than Whoop! Your detailed feedback is invaluable to us - we're glad you're enjoying the new features!
  • Bevel has quickly become my favorite Health Apl

I have been a long time user of Oura, however as the life of my battery started to decline (down to 2 days) I went in search of a replacement. I have been using Bevel for a couple of months now and can’t imagine living without it.

For the way I use both apps (there are a lot of features that I don’t use regularly), following is quick compare/contrast:

    - For REM and Deep sleep the two apps are directionally similar. Not sure which one is more accurate.
    - There is a LOT more movement in the Bevel sleep score, which I like. My Oura sleep score tends to be in a narrow range which makes it less useful.
    - There is even more variability with the Bevel Recover score vs. Oura’s Readiness score. I find that Bevel is way more in line with how I feel.
    - Bevel has a Strain recommendation (how hard you should work out that day) based on your sleep/recover, which I find very useful. This has helped to reduce the amount I over train.
    - Bevel tracks your stress throughout the day. I consider myself having very low stress however I have learned that the stress from some of my workouts stays with me throughout the day.
    - My wife got sick and all of the Bevel scores I have mentioned above enabled her to be smart about her recovery and getting back to training.

With Oura I really like the Heart Rate graph and the HRV graph, neither of which currently exist within Bevel (though they are on the feature request list).

  • Fitness Coach with results

I have been using this app since its first public release in January 2024 and all other fitness coaching apps have been deleted and subscriptions canceled.
Bevel continues to get better and better with each update that is released!
Is it accurate? I feel that it is.
If you have a low recovery score, you can feel it! If you have a high recovery score, it’s a game on day!!
The developers are doing a great job with this app and are willing to help you out if you have issues.

    Developer Response

We truly appreciate your support and enthusiasm for our app, especially your detailed feedback about the recovery score feature and our continuous improvements based on user input.
  • The app every Apple Watch owner needs

This is the first app that has made me feel like I can fully unlock my body using the data from my Apple Watch. Apple Health has been the same crappy design for years and then this came along and i finally feel like my watch is useful again.
  • Incredible recovery tracking

Amazing for recovery and sleep tracking, miles ahead of any comparable app I've seen within the App Store thus far. However, the workout section is a bit lacking. I currently use Strong premium, but I really want to switch to this because it just offers so much more. If there was a way to add custom exercises and designate "warmup sets", "super sets" (lol), and "drop sets", this would be an absolute winner. Cannot wait to see what this team does with this, I think with improvements to the workout tracking section as described it will put all other fitness apps to shame. Don't sleep on this!

    Developer Response

Thank you for the feedback! We recently updated the Activity Details view to include more metrics. Strength Builder improvements are on the way. We hope you can revise the rating then to reflect how you feel about the app.
  • Has potential

App idea and interface has potential. For me, the app kept quitting on me both on the watch and on the phone when I would be setting up a workout. I decided to delete the app when it quit in the middle of a workout and I lost all my progress. I also find it very difficult to set up a workout and be able to edit once a workout has started, the only way to edit the workout is on the watch which can be inefficient. It would be cool if it could sync workouts from other apps, such as Fitbod that way there is no need to create a workout when a user is already paying another app for a workout. May try it out again in 6 months. Definitely not worth paying for right now.

  • The true Whoop alternative

If you want to ditch your whoop or you’re torn between this and a whoop then just get superset!
Better design, works with Apple Watch really well, and still has stress monitor and strength training strain.
Developer is super responsive and fixes any issues promptly as well as releases new features quickly and while remaining stable.
Highly recommend this app for recovery, sleep and strain!
