  • Looks good but sounds terrible

I like the look and functionality of the calculator but the sound of the button click is not in line with the calculator look and feel. Wish it was closer to the sound of the actual calculator buttons which was one of the outstanding features of the typical HP calculator.

Thank you for the review. The sounds are actual recordings of an original hp 67. However, as the original is already quite dated (especially the magnet card drive), the sounds might not be the same anymore. Also, the recordings probably cannot capture the true sound. You can disable the sound in the settings or after pressing h E.
  • RPN!!! It has Reversed Polish Notation

The first calculator I used with any frequency was a HP 46. Before that was a slide rule. HP used to always make the best calculators. Then I got issued a HP 67. That’s where I first got into programming, and eventually became a real computer programmer.

Anyway, as far as I can tell, this is a nearly flawless implementation of one of absolutely best hardware calculators ever.

But pardon me for asking for support, is there documentation somewhere in the program?

Oh, for those who aren’t familiar with Reverse Polish Notation, (not a slur, it was invented by a Polish guy), and if you do much more than add - subtract, multiply, divide, you owe it to yourself to learn RPN well enough to make a judgement. As an ex-land surveyor, math guy and programmer, I can tell you that it’s worth learning. It’s much more flexible than algebraic notation.

  • This is a great app

I used a real HP-67 when I was studying statistics at university. I still pwe a working one. This app is as close to the real thing ss it can get. Great work Fabian!
  • A fabulous old beast

Hewlett Packard were pioneers of the programmable calculator. They did it with a focus on sturdy reliability and practical functionality. The HP-67 was ahead of its time. It made good use of brand new technology of the day with its charming red LED display, and clever programming logic allowed recording of keypresses to automate repetitive tasks, all supplemented with bespoke program cards to further simplify things for the user.

This superb emulation of one of HP's best, the legendary 67, comes with several of the most useful program cards, and replicates the original operation so accurately that watching the display during calculation imbues the thing with a life of its own and whisks me back to school in its memory. Unlike mere mortals though, it can always be trusted to come up with correct solutions.

Considering the above, my disappointment that it does not rotate for landscape view on an iPad seems churlish. I almost always delete 'portrait only' apps but this wonderful thing really is a genuine exception.

Legendary 67 is an outstanding app; a credit to its author and his perfectionism.

  • Great calculator accessory

For RPN fans, a must have on the IPhone. ❤️ it!!
  • Really nice emulator

The days when I would carry my HP-67 around are over, but with this and my phone I can use it again! Thanks for a wonderful app.
  • Thanks for Hp 67 app!

As an old engineer I loved this calculator. When mine died (the rubber mag strip drive wheel got gummy) I moved up to the Hp 48 which was cumbersome to program. I missed the simple keystroke programability of the 67 which I knew so well. It looks like I can resurrect my old 67 programs and run them again. I sincerely appreciate you writing this app and offering it for the free price. You are a true hero to the HP calculator legacy. I am very grateful to you. Thanks again.👍

  • Piece of crap

Piece of crap. Doesn’t do landscape mode.
  • A calculator for the HP style minds.

A very well written program mimicking the real HP programmable calculator making it extremely useful for engineering types. I just love it.
  • Great job!

You made an old engineer very happy. The only thing I really miss is the great key feel. I loved my HP-67 dearly.
