  • Okay, but needs quality of life updates

The app itself is okay, but it requires so many taps to get between relevant information that it’s easier to just use other resources. It needs to be much easier to swap between warscrolls at a minimum, and would be nice if it displayed all the spells/prayers/manifestations/rampages etc available to your list in one space to make it easier and quicker to find.
  • As bad as the 40k app somehow

Stick with the free alternatives, as this would be an embarrassing paid app. Still no way to import a list, everything is double nested within infuriating little menus, no way to copy lists or organize them in any way, and a million rules scattered across a billion separate nested sections. GW products living up to their sterling reputation 🙄
  • So much clicking

Why format it this way just have the warscroll up when you click on a unit why do I have to click then click and click then click and click. Also there is a glitch where the search function doesn’t let me click on it.
App is definitely over complicated I wouldn’t pay a dime for this.
  • Terrible compared to the 40K app

Building an army in this is so overly complicated. Trying to add the Orks I’ve got to see what all I have so far and when I picked stuff to start adding models I can only add the Orks on the boar and can’t see anything else.

Trying to read what things do what has me clicking a tiny arrow for the drop down and instead of it opening it clicks it and takes me to the next page which makes me have to keep swinging back when I’m trying to click to read things.

So far so bad for this app. More overly complicating things that don’t need to be.
  • Worse in every way

They engineered the new app to be worse in every way than the old one AND now it is paid.

Excessive drop down menu design and full of bugs. The search function constantly resets itself so you can’t type into it and it will even allow some illegal lists-which is half the point of this thing.
  • Seems like a reskinned Warhammer 40,000 app

The app does not have a Landscape Mode for the iPad.
The app does not sync Armies from your iPad to your Phone and vice versa
The warscrolls on the app should automatically expand all the drop downs. There are way too many clicks to get through this. Basically having to click and expand, the scroll down, the click to expand the next one, and the those even may have abilities that need to be clicked and expanded as well. Not very user friendly.
The app warscrolls are not consistently designed the same as the cards, for example, the move/health/save/control should be in the same design as the faction packs to make things consistent and clear.
Should add a “Command Bunker” option like in the Warhammer 40,000 app
The app should walk you through each step for creating your army, especially with regiments.
Would be nice to be able to have an indication on the warscrolls if it would go over your points total for the army before adding them.
There is a swiping problem when going into warscrolls in your army that double swipes back and forth.
There is a bug on the iOS version where if you go into a warscrolls and swipe back, then go into another warscrolls and swipe back, it takes you to the first warscrolls and so on.
It would be nice to have a mode where you could setup a battle and add your army and the enemies army to keep track of points and rounds.
  • Downgrade with multiple problems

Compared to the previous app it’s just worse.

The search engine for some reason will prematurely enter your search it you don’t tap for a literal half a second. This makes it more than useless.

No battle bunker which is the only redeemable quality of the 40K one.

Lastly all the abilities and weapon profiles are are hidden behind multiple widgets, which are even more useless for this more streamlined edition.

As a fan of AoS who used the original app for second edition this is clearly the worse one by far please fix it I want it to be useful it has so much potential.
  • Hey let’s take something that works and make it worse

Too many drops downs, no “command bunker”, no way to save favorite rules for a quick reference. The 40K app worked pretty well, just had to copy it and of course that all got buggered. You had one job, copy/paste, change the colors to make it bright🤣
  • Same poor design from the 40K app

Games workshop still struggles to develop apps that are easy to use. There are too many drop-downs. It takes 4 taps to navigate to see what an ability does on my unit in an army list. Re-enforcing a unit takes an extra tap than the previous app. The app is slower to load and the new layout is not as clean as the previous app. Why change a design that works to one that everyone hated when 10th 40K was released? I wish GW would make apps for their other games like Legion Imperialus or Horus Heresy but it seems like independent indie developers with no monetization do a better job of making software than a company with 4.5 billion in market cap.
  • Disappointed WH Plus Subscriber

As a WH plus subscriber, I’m super disappointed in this app. This was one of the only reasons I was considering keeping my subscription. Now I’m contemplating canceling my subscription due to the over complication of an app that is supposed to provide an easy access to information.

I very much enjoyed the simplicity and ease of navigation with the first App. This is app buries information in a endless tide of drop-down menus and acts as an active barrier to reference unit information in a timely manner.

As a player I don’t want to memorize every WS and want to be able to reference my units, unit abilities, and other information in a timely manner. This app obliterates that ability.

Please, PLEASE limit the drop downs and apply the same “one page Warscroll” logic for the cards to this app. There’s no reason at all why it should be this bad.

Reward the paying customers with quality and function and you’ll be rewarded with happy subscribers.
