Best money I have spent on a tool to help me practice.
It has something for everyone. I personally use the presets and just use my guitar controls with the katana go volume knob to do tweaks. I love this as I personally don’t want to mess around with settings in the app too much right now. There is a ton of features in there to mess with when I do get to that point but I love that it’s optional.
Sessions is where I do use the app a lot. It allows me to add tracks that I want for practicing. Some really great features in there for marking points in a track and tempo control. For me I just created playlists in Apple Music and then sync them to my phone. From there I can import tracks in and use them for practice. I have also used web links and it worked as I expected.
Librarian is great for saving tweaks as presets that I can use again later. Also being able to just jump back to the presets on the device is great. I have not messed with many of the user created sets but I have downloaded all the Boss ones and they are very fun. I mostly stick to the presets that came on the device though.
Used tone studio to download all the boss created sets. I find it fun to swap it up a little from time to time.
My general workflow is using the built in tuner before playing, selecting my preset from the device, opening sessions, and running through tracks I am practicing. I switch from sessions to using a metronome app on my phone.
All this is super simple and makes practicing very easy to do. Super minimal and mobile solution that covers all my needs.
I hope they do sort the Katana Go out in the future and offer it again. I am a hobbyist and do not really need an amp for my needs, but this checks all the boxes in what I was always looking for.
