Crashes more than bumper cars at a carnival
Response from developer
So sorry this is happening to you! Would be happy to look into what’s going on with your project if you reach out via email: getpicasso@gmail.com FYI, we just released version 3.0.0 which uses a new file format that hopefully helps reduce crashing.
Great app

Thanks for the review! It actually is possible to purchase Picasso as a one-time payment, you should see the lifetime option in the paywall (you may have to scroll to see it).
Great app and time saver!

Glad you like the app!
Great app for developers
There are a few things that could be done to make it better.
- The device bezels that Apple's marketing resources provide have a license agreement. It appears that these wireframes are being used in the app. The developer should pass on that license agreement to the user of the app to make sure they play by the rules.
- Templates! I'd like to make a template and then provide a JSON file or the like along with a directory to images to automate the app.
- A nice touch would be a File > New Project that asks you which devices and platforms you support and then creates placeholder for required assets.
- While this fall Apple will only require one screenshot per each device type, I would like to see this app have a strong opinion that the best experience is still per-device screenshots.
- Support for multiple windows - different projects. I'd like to be able to look at multiple of my apps at a time. I have a visual style across my apps that I like to maintain. Having to change the device target a bunch is cumbersome and could be much better.
- Support for multiple windows - the same project. I'd like the ability to quickly copy and paste the screenshot captions across different device types to make sure they're all lining up and easily edit with less push and pop.
- Support to duplicate the copy from one device to another. I don't want to copy the entire screen including device screenshot, I want to just copy the image caption to another device.
- The settings pane on macOS feels like it is missing navigation push and pop functionality. For example going into Settings > XCStrings Files, there isn't a 'back' button to go back. When exploring the different settings screens of the app there is more back and forth and reopening of the window that should have IMHO support 'back' navigation.

Thanks so much for the great review! Love the feedback you’ve listed here, but a better place for it would be the official feature tracker, where other users can see your tickets and everyone votes on what to build next. https://picasso.features.vote/board Regarding the back button behaviour, that’s a limitation of SwiftUI for macOS. I can’t seem to get proper navigation to work within a sheet. Also, you are able to duplicate any item in a screenshot to another screenshot. Simply right click to access the menu.
It's a good tool for creating screenshots, a feature suggestion

Thanks for the review! You can currently set a shadow on text, which should give you enough contrast on top of your colorful background. I’ll look into adding more options for this though! What would it take for you to give me a 5 star review? P.S. you can use the feature request option in the app’s preferences to submit ideas!
Amazing
Response from developer
No problem, thank you for the review!
Still buggy
- Editing text will jump you to a previous screenshot
- Adjusting the scale of an image ends up changing the scale of an image on a different screenshot.
But the developer has been very responsive with workarounds so the trajectory is good.

So sorry about this bug! It has been a little tricky to track down, but I think I have solved it. For future reference, you can fix this by duplicating the screenshot that is giving you trouble!
Super intuitive interface

Thanks for the review! There’s even more cool stuff in the works 😄
Very helpful
Picasso has made my life (and my teammates’) that much easier.

Thanks for the review! What will it take to get to 5 stars?
Pretty cool idea

Thanks for the review! We believe a native app is the best solution for this problem.
