  • Audio issues

Great app, wonderful controls, day 1 buyer.

There are some audio issues when using a 15 pro max and selecting to shoot in 4k 60fps pro res. Audio goes out of sync or completely cuts out. At least it did for a good amount of my videos which sucked but it happens.

Also unable to use the 5x camera when shooting in the same format.
There should be a dialog box that says it doesn’t support that format rather than black screen and the app crashing.
  • add one thing for us?

I almost want to give this 5 stars. could you add the ability to use bluetooth camera shutter/record button? Im a Travel Vlogger and i use the default camera app and i want to use this software but it doesn't work with my bluetooth clicker like the default app does... would make my workflow much easier instead of touching the record button on screen. Thanks!! 😊😊
  • Great out of the gate. Needs Apple Watch Remote

All I need is an Apple Watch Remote app to control this so I can do self-tape auditions. I’d love gimbal support for my Zhiyun gimbal (Filmic Pro had gimbal support), but the Watch app would be so great to have.
  • Audio is an Afterthought?

I shot a live concert yesterday using Kino exclusively. The app crashed a few times, which is forgivable for a V1, but when I play back the successful recordings, the audio is unusable. The quality of the audio seems ok, but it’s way out of sync with the image, and seems to cut entire chunks out. If it was just a timing issue, I could adjust it to match, but it’s unworkable and unusable. During capture, the VU meters were peaking at the slightest noise and there’s no setting to reduce the input levels. Very disappointing for a paid, professional app.

  • Really great - a few requests and features that will make this 5 stars for me

Always searching for the best “pro video” app for my needs. Clean interface, features, etc. I tried moment and didn’t love it. Black magic is incredible but I’ve always wanted something more intuitive to just fire up and go. I learned about Kino yesterday and downloaded the minute I learned it was built by two people. As a developer with a love of filmmaking I wanted to support this and see its growth early on. I do have a little bit of feedback and some requests that I think would knock this out of the park. Anamorphic de-squeeze for anamorphic lenses. Bluetooth shutter control I’ll echo the majority with a request for tap to focus. Minor UI cleanup and fixes, most notably the flickering persists in the top of the screen. Overall, really nice work ya’ll. I’m excited to see what’s in store.
  • No good

App performs terrible compared to other apps even default camera app. Recording quality looks terrible, cannot zoom in our out while recording. This app is not ready to be published. Stick with Blackmagic Camera. It’s free and has way more features than this. I wanted to give this a try because their photo app is excellent and app privacy policy is user friendly.

  • Only 7 Grades for iPhone 14 Pro?… come on.

First off this is an incredible app; functionality, design, and user interface are top notch. However, as an iPhone 14 Pro Max user I am very disappointed all of the grades are not available. I would understand on a technical level how the processing power of an older iPhone would be limited, but between an iPhone 14 and 15 it’s pretty negligible. I suppose we’re 3 months away from the new iPhone, but still. Apps like this are only purchased for the ability to use filters, or in this case Grades. Hopefully more will be allowed for the iPhone 14 Pro and Max.
  • Hits the sweet spot!

Thanks for this terrific app. Excellent functionality and interface design. Makes shooting on my iPhone a real treat. Hits the sweet spot for video camera apps- useful automation with enough user control to make the iPhone able to produce high quality work. Perfect app for what you would use an iPhone, as opposed to a cinema camera, to shoot.
  • Optimism

I do not professionally record cinematic films on my phone but I happily paid ten dollars for an app that makes me feel like I could if I wanted to.
  • Too heavy on processor and easily crashes and glitches

Heavily do not recommend this app. The entire app freezes up when recording, and captures glitchy and spotty recordings. I’ve tried full 4k with 24, 30, 60 fps and it has not recorded a single good video. Color grading seems to be great and everything is awesome, but it doesn’t matter at all if it can’t even capture basic video. Not even close to worth the money if this doesn’t get fixed soon. iPhone 13 and iOS 17.4.1

Edit: did some more testing and it seems to just be an issue with processor overload. I bet this app works great on newer phones, but my phone’s not *that* old, and kinda disappointing to know that they didn’t do any real testing to make the app backwards compatible. Would like to love this app, but this needs to be fixed ASAP or just only offered to newer iPhones.
