Fantastc app….
But that being said, I wish it had a few more features, so that I could rely on it as I do the Native camera app. I wish that It had a Zoom capability, that worked like the Native Video app, and so that like it all three lenses could work together in tandem when pulling a Zoom. I also wish it had better stabilization, on par with the native apps, which is outstanding. The stabilization is just okay, but it could be much better, if more effort were put in this department. I also wish I could set my focus points manually If I choose to do so, could create custom settings, and could most of all Preserve my chosen settings. Other than that, this is a GREAT camera app, that blows many of the others out of the waters (they’re not even in the same lake!). Keep on keepin’ on. LOVE IT, and GREAT JOB, You guys!!!✌🏻🌈

Just as Advertised
I’m really enjoying the cinematic touch this app gives iPhone videos. In so many ways, Apple hardware is capable of pro-level content. But the software is of course focused on everyday users, leaving a lot of potential unrealized. Apps like this one solve that problem for people who want to make pro-level stuff on a device in their pockets or who want their everyday stuff to look just right.
A few feature requests:
1- Sliders on the color style options. All the LUTs look great for longer, movie-length works. But most of us are making 45-second stories and reels that need a more subtle look.
2- An iPad/Mac control and monitor app. This may be moot with iPhone mirroring now available on Mac. But it would allow us to use the front camera for talking head videos.
3- Something like Apple’s Cinematic/Portrait Mode. I know it’s distinctly not pro or cinematic, but it’s nice sometimes to blur the background a little more than the hardware allows for.

Disappoints for one reason
App works fine and does what is mentioned without issue, but I was told it had external mic support but it does not with Bluetooth mics. This is the only feature I paid for and downloaded the app as Apple native camera doesn’t support mics. Was severely let down upon paying for this app and finding there is no Bluetooth mics support. Sorry guys but until this is fixed I’ll have to use black magic.

Great
It’s great UI, so clean, not as feature full as Filmic or Blackmagic but a great simplistic way to capture cinematic footage

Should Be Standard
It feels like, especially with the BlackMagic Cam release and iOS camera updates, that all of the features included in this app should be made standard to cinema camera apps by now.
What separates it? Their key feature of shooting with filters is time saving, but VSCO and other apps have this.
The one thing that none of these video apps have is the ability to shoot/filter with film grain. But Kino doesn’t differentiate itself in this way either.

So much lag on 16 pro max
Bought this 5 mins ago and it’s immediately apparent that the app is unusable on my 16 pro max. So much lag between filter changes and settings changes.
Genuinely would like a refund please.

Great App
I bought Kino on launch and it is a fun to use. There are a couple of features I would like to see added. The ability to save manual settings after closing and reopening the app would be great. It’s mildly annoying to have to reset them each time I launch the app. It would also be nice to incorporate anamorphic desqueeze into the options. Keep up the great work Kino team. Excited to see what’s to come.

Please add White Balance Tint, Camera Button & fix shutter!
Now that I’ve gotten the chance to use and play with the app for a long time, I noticed the shutter manual control option is non responsive. Tapping on 180 and 360 involves multiple taps to register. And tapping on the 45 and 90 is non responsive. I’ve reached out to support but their response time is extremely slow. Last response I’ve gotten has taken over a month. Please fix this issue!
Original review:
So far, loving this app over the BlackMagic camera app and the Moment app I used to use. My only request to make this app perfect is to please add a White Balance Tint option. It would seriously be amazing to have that feature. Also, a lock screen and camera control button option would be amazing for launching the app on the lock screen or by pressing the camera control button.
