Love this community and with the app it makes it easy to RSVP to the many events they offer.
Love the range of things from workouts, to arts & crafts, all whilst meeting new friends!

My safe place!

I’ve met so many amazing women on this app! Being super independent, I often go to events by myself, but then I end up feeling uncomfortable or unsafe (for a multitude of reasons),and that would make me not want to go out as much. It’s hard feeling scared for your safety when all you’re doing is existing. However, this app has so many different kinds of events you can attend (and you can even create your own and post them to the dashboard to see if anyone would like to join because everyone fills out an application to join this community to make sure everyone is being safe) and meet some amazing friends at these events!! I’ve def made some close friends through this app/these events! Everyone is so accepting of you regardless of where you’re from, what you look like, etc. And everyone is so accepting of your interests and likes (even if they may be different from your own).

Application process is tedious

The app crashed 3x during my "application" also the fact that they "review" your profile feels shady and potentially queerphobic and unfriendly to people who are not able bodied/conventionally attractive. Weird vibes overall

Hi there! I appreciate you taking the time to leave honest feedback - our team is super small and we are working hard to make girlgroup better every day! I want to apologize for the crashes you experienced, but even more so for not making it clear that girlgroup is an inclusive community. We do not tolerate any bigotry, queerphobia, racism, ableism, or any type of hatred here. The application process exists for two reasons: 1) To allow us the time to ensure that the community stays safe. By a real-life human approving every profile, we can ensure that these are real people (not spammers/catfish) who are following our community guidelines, and 2) to approve members who are close to an area where girlgroup is currently available. The last thing we want to do is approve a new member, have them select a membership, only to find out that there are no other girlgroup members or events nearby! I hope that all makes sense, and can bring some clarity to the situation. We are taking this feedback to heart and will implement new features to explain all of that in-app. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to email us at contact@girlgroup.la and we can chat further! Hopefully we'll turn that 1-star to a 5-star eventually :)

Hi there! We're so sorry about the wait. It's possible that your application has been waitlisted because your location is far from the areas where the app is currently accessible. We want to make sure anyone who joins has a positive experience, and it wouldn't be the same app if there aren't other members nearby just yet! So worth it!!

Not only have I met some amazing ladies through this group, but I’ve gone to events and activities I would have never gone to before because I would have been too shy just going by myself. Girlgroup is amazing because all the women there are looking to meet other girls and to find their group! Especially after moving away from home, this community has really been a lifesaver for me.

Recommending to all my girls looking to make friends in LA!

This app has already introduced me to genuine female friendships. It is not like those other apps where the intention is to make friends with locals in your area but that almost never happens. Within this app I had been able to attend events with likeminded woman seeking those female connections we may had in college, a sorority or with childhood best friends, but this time in our local area here in LA.

FINALLY WE NEED THIS

Making friends as an adult is hard. I felt so lonely but like I was the only one feeling that way. It has been so magical to find this app and community, my whole life has changed.
