One major flaw

I’ve tested several of these minimal launchers. This is one of the best. The problem is such a major one though that I can’t use it for now.

There is a delay in opening the app from the app that is opened after clicking the link in the widget. The app seems to get stuck in On Point. It will frequently not take me to my target app.

I get that Apple has caused an issue where you need to use the shortcuts app and an automation to get this working. But other apps at least get the forwarding to the target app part right. And they do it quickly. In this app, I get stuck after landing in the app from the widget.

However I really like having two widgets for the home page, so I can have 3 more app links shown than other launcher apps. It just isn’t enough of a benefit to overcome the failure of doing the one job it can’t fail at, taking me to the target app.

The best of the minimal launchers

I’ve had the app for a month. After trying many variations on point was the only one that didn’t redirect when using the shortcut workaround. With IOS 18 it does redirect via the app for the first time after unlock, but Im sure it will be fixed and it’s still the better experience. One suggestion: create a blank black page in the app so I can leave that open and the redirect effect for the times it does happen would be less jarring.

it’s okay

trying to automate all of my apps and have realised i can only use 6 widgets at a time? bit of a bummer. can’t seem to really fit enough apps on one widget..

Dosn’t work

As title. Just doesn’t work.

Hey Secondintime! Sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience. I have just released v2.0 – does it work now? – Frederik

Love this app and bought the pro version! Would love for one thing to be added: could you add an optional feature that randomly changes the order off Apps in a widget, say, every hour?
The changing app pattern would prevent „habitual“ app use because you have to search for the app name every time! Still gave you 5 stars but please incorporate this suggestion 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I really want to like this app.

I am a lifetime member. The general idea is great. Minimal Home Screen, and no notifications. The interface for adding apps is straightforward and customizable.

However, the app opening is clunky. It’s not possible to natively add every single app. So, the custom apps via shortcuts is great, right? Not so much. Clicking an app via the widgets while running via shortcuts / automation will make on point visibly open for about a second or two before opening the desired app. Although short, this is frustrating! The worst offender is Firefox Focus. So, I have to either live with this clunky delay with automation on, or not support custom apps. Please improve this if possible.

Not as bad as the reviews say.

Not perfect obviously but about as good as can be expected given the built in IOS limitations. Not hard to figure out if you have a little bit of patience. Will continue to use this.

good workaround but adding apps is difficult & now can’t seem to rename apps

it has definitely improved from *that* update, but it is still hard to use. i deleted this app for a while but came back since i saw it had updated. the workaround for opening apps is good. but the adding new apps is difficult since most of mine aren’t on that list

it also won’t let me have two widgets with the free version. i thought i could get max two free widget?

Thanks a lot for your feedback! I can definitely understand your frustration, the old version used to work much better. It was not my decision to make the app work in a worse way. I have worked hard in the last couple of weeks to add a new workaround which makes the app a lot better, especially when used with custom apps. I would love to hear your feedback on this, you can find the new setting + tutorial in on point’s settings.

Great idea

Great idea, ambitious and clever. It was too complicated to set it up and the result was poor.

Hoping for an update to fix the issues!

APPLE HAS HAM-STRINGED DEVELOPERS with recent iOS update…

“Don’t hate the player, hate the game!”

This app was almost perfect. Now, because of Apple’s alterations, this guy and many other dev’s are having to come up with work arounds that currently aren’t too pretty. Hoping Apple updates and gives more freedom so this developer can re-simplify the flow of the app.
