  • Happy for New Star!

I've been a huge New Star Games fan since their early soccer games. I buy all their games on Steam and I'm so happy they have had the level of success to make deals with big names like the NFL. With that said, this is the same game as Retro Bowl and just reskinned with NFL teams and players. I would have liked to see a true sequel to the game with new features and more differences in gameplay. Adding in defense gameplay would have been a great start. It also would have been nice to have the real 24-25 season schedule in the game. Ultimately, I would love to see a New Star Football game instead. Where you make a player and progress your career as them. If you've played Retro Bowl, you've played this game. Can still be fun to start all over for huge NFL fans.
  • Great game but one problem

I think the game is great. It’s the game everyone wants on they’re phone because it’s well rounded and it’s a fun game in general. But, I believe that some of the ratings and stats that some quarterbacks have been putting up are pretty insane. In my year nine, Dak Prescott put up 14k yards passing with 328 touchdowns. I just don’t think that’s reasonable for a guy like him. Overall, the game is a huge success and I love it .One recommendation I have would be to add a defensive mode where you can take over one player a game and use a joystick to run, and let the player automatically tackle or intercept a ball depending on the skills they have.
  • Good Game but other player’s Stats??

The game is a good game. I still wish it were possible to control defense and do online play. Also, can we be realistic with these computer generated stats that are preventing my players from winning MVP?? Baker Mayfield with 4,000+ rushing yards and 13,000+ passing yards in a season!?!? I can’t even pass for that many yards in a season set on rookie with 3 minutes per quarter. Let’s add that analog stick, with more moves than a simple juke, defensive control (or at the simplest allowing us to see our defense in action), and at least local WiFi play against people so I don’t have to share my phone to be able to play someone.
  • Great game but

Please please fix the other players stats, it is incredibly unrealistic. Tua tagoviloa had 393 TDs passing and 12,000 passing yards, among many others. And a lot of player ratings also aren't the most accurate. The carolina panthers went 12-5 with like a 4 star offense and made the NFC championship game, just not a reality. Tyler allegier is 4.5 stars, David Montegomery is 5 star potential, Jonnu smith is 4.5 stars, James Bradberry is 4 stars, Sauce Gardner is only 3.5 stars, just to name a few And as an Eagles fan, pleeeeease add Jalen Carter, If you able to, with NFLPA or whatnot if it allows that. Otherwise the game is awesome, just those things that should be fixed.
  • Bugs

Very good game, I would like a player for player trade aspect. It would be nice to be able to add numbers to drafted and signed players. The Browns helmet logo in the uniform selection has a brown facemask and the Browns wear a White facemask. The Browns 50 yard logo is the helmet when their 50 yard logo is Brownie the elf. When you look at stats of other teams players you will have QB’s throwing 300TD seasons and 25 TD’s per game so that’s definitely a bug which can affect awards and other things. Overall, happy with the game, I would like to see some aspects that make it different then the other retro bowl games being we’re paying money for this one. Maybe add a ultimate team game mode! I also think a expansion team mode would be cool!

    Developer Response

The issue with players on other teams accumulating large stats will be fixed if you update to the latest version. We will continue to improve the stats system in future updates.
  • Too many bugs and questionable design choices

I played through one season and while I enjoyed the NFL graphics and players there are a number of issues holding this version of Retro Bowl back. Firstly the game allows you to either get a random set of players for your team or allows you to pick from a list of players. You’re limited to a max of 10 players and the salary cap feature keeps you from having all your teams players. The game has coaching credits you receive for winning games and also from random events that happen In between games. The regular Retro Bowl doesn’t have licensed players or teams so the salary cap makes sense. Also the original game allows you to purchase coaching credits if you desire. Apple Arcade doesn’t allow for that. So you’re stuck with not only not being able to field your entire favorite NFL team but you’ll struggle to keep your star players and field a fun and competitive team. Also there have been numerous bugs so far to show this version was rushed out the door or that they literally didn’t play test whatsoever. To the developers credit they have come out with patches to fix some of the bugs but not all. Combine that with cap issue and it’s not nearly as fun as the non-Apple arcade version.
  • Great game!

I really like the fact you have little sprites of all the NFL players! Gameplay is basically the same, but a lot of it is different! A couple suggestions would be 1) To add a Super Bowl presentation with all the players celebrating(the star players with their helmets off like in the menu), and 2) I’m sure someone has mentioned this, but some sort of ability system would be cool. One thing I don’t really like is WHERE ARE ALL THE SAFTIES! I’m a 49ers fan and can’t have my favorite player, Talanoa Hufanga. My friend is a falcons fan, and he doesn’t have Jessie Bates III, Justin Simmons, or AJ Terrell jr.! I would love if this safety issue could be addressed(if there is one, hopefully). Otherwise, it’s great!
  • Not What I Expected

This game has nothing better then the other then the other retro bowl (which I love btw) my favorite thing in the other retro bowl was making my team better. This game kinda ruins that since you start with the team that you want to start with like in the other game you started with the team but not with the players. I can’t really make my team better if I have a good team that I like. And obviously it looks better like when you play a game those stuff while it’s 90% the same as the other retro bowl. The game mechanics are better and the vision part of it. Also I’m rating it 4 stars cause the devs deserved it. Honestly it’s 3 stars I’m srry devs. I hope the devs with make it so you can make your team not and you don’t have the NFL superstars switch it too roster again. Thank you for reading this have a great day!
  • Could Be Better

Some players should NOT be the ratings they are. Then there’s some who’s potentiometers compared to others should be way higher. Like Tua does not have more potential then Mahomes in any universe. Other than that, the stats need to be fixed. There’s no point in progressing players in the season mode when you can’t even get any awards with them. Also the stats are even inflated with your players. Receivers shouldn’t be getting 300 yards a game like a qb and same goes for running backs. Aside from the ratings and stats it’s fun. Though I wish the game was a little bit more different from retro bowl with the game play it works I guess. I wish you could customize star players equipment and tattoos and I wish you could make the stars on the field smaller or toggle them off completely. The design team did a great job with the player card though, with every player in the game looking like they do irl. It’s not a huge step up from retro bowl because I feel it was rushed unfortunately. Who am I to judge though. 8/10
  • Has potential but unplayable at the moment

This game has a lot of potential but there’s just way too many issues for me. There are so many bugs, the ratings are all over the place, the MASSIVE stars under the players is obnoxious, and a lot of the uniforms are inaccurate/have weird errors. The last one is very confusing because the uniforms in the standard RB game are near perfect. I’d also up the salary cap and allow teams to have larger rosters. You should be able to have more than 6-7 players from whatever team you use. No extreme mode makes it unplayable for me but I’ve heard that’s being worked on so I’ll cut them some slack. Overall, I just see no real reason to play this over RB or RBC right now. Hopefully they make the necessary changes in the future to make this game great.
